Deinodon

Deinodons are a medium Saurian race descended from the family Tyrannosauridae, they are unique among Saurians in still being purely carnivorous like their therapod ancestors. They usually live 70-90 years, and culturally prefer a matriarchal family structure, but much else about their communities is only rumor, as they're deeply private. Even when found in cities Deinodon have a reputation for keeping to themselves, and usually return to their smaller, rural communities as they age. They reproduce slowly, having one egg at a time and usually raising that child to near maturation before having the next. They're one of the few Saurians who tends to keep what other-worlders consider to be a standard familial structure, where children are raised primarily by close relatives until they're ready to start their own lives.

Due to their dietary needs, many of the herds that roam the plains of Soirenta are owned and/or worked by Deinodon, a position that leads to them having influence with nearby cities through trade, but still being a step apart. The only position in the city primarily populated by Deinodon are the Wildlife Escort ranks that prevent dinosaur intrusions on the city borders: redirecting herds that come to close, or predators looking to pick off an easy meal.
