Star Sight

A new belief system stirring up trouble in Willowmoor.

In the Beginning...

The faith had practitioners before they had a name. A combination of a soothsayer and former Daiyoist, they called themselves Starblazers and gave people fortunes and advice based on signs they read in the night sky. As they gained in popularity, one of their leaders began to allege they followed something called Star Sight, which she defined as "the ability to see what the gods divine" and which scholars now define as "a belief in visions imparted from gods that are thought to live in the stars".

Star Sight in the Before Times

In the early days of the belief system, many can still remember the horoscopes they used to read in the newspaper or get notified of on their phones, and it's thought by wiser Willowmoorans that those with Star Sight are simply pulling from astrological beliefs of the Before Times. They will find their suspicions confirmed in the future when the Starblazers release the names of their pantheon of gods, who happen to match the zodiac.

Defilement of Daiyo

Star Sight is considered an offshoot of Daiyoism because instead of recognizing the sun god, followers of Star Sight recognize many sun gods in the many stars. Furthermore, of its two founders, one explicitly testifies to having been in prayer to Daiyo when she heard the whisperings of the other gods.

The Daiyoists themselves are offended by this recognition, though, as they see the Starblazers as defilers of Daiyo and his perfect light. A sharp rivalry will rise up between the two belief systems.
