Court of the king in red

There are 7 Titles one can attain as a member of the Church of the maker, while 3 greater echelons exist within the secret court of the Scarlet King.   Neophyte, the newly initiated; Gives no sacramental power. But does make the recipient a member of the clergy rather than the Veiled Pantheon.   Cantor, preacher: Minor office holders among the lay members of a church. Originally it was given to people who would act in effect as ushers in church later it allowed one to give readings in church services.   Vicar, minor priest of the church: The minimum status permitting a person to offer the Maker's Grace to another (without special faculties, of course). Vicars are the lowest grade of clergy with real jobs in the hierarchy: they visited the sick (taking the grace to the bedridden, etc.), collected and distributed alms, etc.   Eristic, greater priest within a village: This is the grade of ordination necessary to perform the most important routine sacraments. With authority over the Vicar and Cantors of the church. They promise to uphold the duties of priesthood and to obey their superiors.   Procurator, Temple Leader of a Church: Procurators are ministers who hold the full sacrament of holy orders. They have the highest authority in a given church and are sworn to secrecy.   Adjudicator, supervisors over an area or several Churches: They oversee large areas of churches called archdiocese. Procurators report directly to them when in need of assistance or guidance. The Adjudicator is best thought of as a manager of Procurators for a certain geographical region.   Patriarch, Rulers of the church and first true Members of the court of the king in red: (Titled ”Witness” within the court)   The highest honour a member of the clergy can receive is to be elected as a leader of the Maker's Church. It is also the most common title within the court of the king in red, any privy to the truth of the organization but without true contact with the Scarlet king will remain a Witness and serve the court as spies, and agents.   The Touched, those who gave up their flesh to the almighty: To become a touched one, is to trully give oneself phisically to the Scarlet king's influence, to let it "perfect" you. Most who take on this role lose their autonomy and become the covert guardians and greatest weapon of the Court. The few who manage to remain sane through the transformation earn the title of Ascendant.   Ascendant, one who is beyond flesh: To be an ascendant is to be the true master of the court, one with the Scarlet king. All bow before them... For we are all one in their blood...

The public knows the court as the Church of the Maker, its known goals are to spread the doctrines of the one true god who made the veiled realms before being usurped by the known gods. They use this guise to spread within political positions without being noticed for what they trully are.

Owing to their roots in ancient Teorcas, during the era of change that Zephyr and his grand mind brought about, they managed to gain technological advancements that they kept from the rest of the world. They was the first to discover the effects of Ceruleum and thanks to this they could infiltrate the then weak republic of the Tertians and implant themselves as the bringers of a technological revolution.

The Court of the King in Red was born from the survivors of the Fall of Laxandel, most of which had lost someone related to them in the city's destruction. This had allowed the Scarlet king to influence them, twisting their fear of what happened into fascination, obsession, and finally fanaticism. Slowly, over decades, the influencial Patrons of Zephyr who had been affected began working together with a common goal, to bring back the "God" they had witnessed.   They knew what they needed to do, find the research documents of Zephyr. The survival of his family wasnt a secret, ant it was guaranteed they had the only copy of his journal. Unknown to them however, he had made preparations over time to protect them in case something went wrong, and they disappeared from the face of Aurora for centuries. This forced them into a state of dormancy, watching, waiting... Until recent years as they suddenly begun expanding their influence... It appears traces of Zephyr's descendants have resurfaced.

The madness brought about by the unnumerable minds within the Scarlet King has convinced the court that he was the original state of the world, and that liberating him would bring it back to what it should be, an harmonious state of singularity.
