The High Order

This document has been peer reviewed by all major sociology, demography, philosophy, ethics, and historian groups, as well as all other non-related but important fields of study within The High Order. We thank you for your time to read over our Empire's humble existence of scientific progression and technological discovery.

Structure

The High Order is a giant Geniocracy, meaning that those with incredible creativity, innovation, intelligence, and wisdom are the ones who lead. Broken into parts, this large Faction contains hundreds if not thousands of small Coteries, each dedicated to every single possible type of science you can imagine. Each Coterie here elects a person whom the others believe is most fit to lead based on the contents and style of their research papers, studies, and even just experiment notes. This leads to a large council of people being in charge of this faction, each making sure that every coterie follows laws, while also submitting research-paper style proposals of new laws or political movements to put forwards. This leads the Faction to run... surprisingly well. Each Coterie has its layers, Sets, Sectors, Coalitions, Bands, but each and every one is lead by some of the brightest people in the galaxy. Dissenting almost never happens as the people are always being given new things to work on in the fields they wish to be in, leading to some of the most formidable minds in the galaxy to be some of the calmest and happiest. While there exists no leader of the Council, the currently appointed figurehead of the faction is Joel Durham, a Perfected Human who works under the study of Quantum Ultraneuroacoustics (The study of fields interactions with the brain.) He's a bit annoyed about being the leader, wanting to do his field of study instead and all, but he admits that it's always good to have a figurehead who knows what they're talking about.

Public Agenda

The High Order wishes to advance technology as quickly as humanly possible, and wishes to take in as many people with what they deem as adequate or above intellect. On the flip side, they shun and disown the ideas of spirituality, idiotisim, and tribalism. This causes anyone that has a non-fact based world view to be nearly "bullied" out of the Faction. This especially effects the philosophic side of the Faction, shunning anything more than simplistic black and white ideals. To them, everything is either right or wrong.

Assets

The High Order possesses no true "Fleet" and instead has smaller divisions of military, mounted with weapons dependent on what the leader of the coterie thinks is best. This creates an incredibly decentralized military, which actually benefits the faction's ability to hold territory, as every single part of it has a fleet just a few systems away.

History

The High Order rose up from The Immortal's crash site as those that hated how some turned to any basis of belief system not centered around their reality. Now, it stands as a Faction based in Fact, Logic, and Reason.

Demography and Population

The High Order uses their ability to terraform almost any planet to create utopian planets, sometimes moving entire orbital trajectories if they have to in order to create near perfect recreations of Earth. Due to this, every single planet has the same day cycle, seasons, and thus work cycle. Some call it strange, the High Order calls it efficiency.

Religion

Religion, as it cannot be proved to exist materialistically, is banned. State mandated Atheism is required to live here.

Foreign Relations

The High Order keeps their foreign relations to a minimum, being essentially isolationists, ignoring the world outside their own.

Infrastructure

The High Order uses a majority of their resources to continue their construction of a single Megastructure, the Matrioshka brain. This single megastructure contains such immense power within it that it is capable of influencing the Quantum Foam of the Universe itself, directly consuming energy from latent aether in space. As it continues to grow, its powers collect; named "Apeiron," this machine brain constructed almost entirely of super computers, Neurological Cybermesh, and DDNA chips is capable of housing a functionally infinite amount of information and is capable of processing and endless amount of data in a nanosecond. Its span the size of almost an entire light year, this device adds onto itself through the power of warping space time itself to suite its own needs.   One could say that The High Order has built a god.

-Entering and leaving the Faction requires an incredibly long winded explanation as to why you need to, and then will be met with hundreds of people reviewing you possibly incredibly private business to see if it is in the Faction's best interest. Even just seeing your family will be denied without great reason, as they simply mention that one should enter The Phaneron to do anything with your loved ones.   -Morals are subject to change in a moment if the potential reward of an experiment is high enough to warrant the loss of life.   -Being seen worshiping anything other than facts is considered a crime of the highest degree, and often leads the perpetrator to be Mind-altered to remove extremist elements from their brain.   -Harming a researcher deemed "Intellectually more important" than you is more of a crime than the opposite. What classifies others and their intellectualism is their involvement in groundbreaking or merely just important papers or discoveries, regardless of whether or not they were actually involved in the discovery or analysis.   -Destroying or obstructing research is considered such a high degree of crime that it can lead to near instantaneous mind-wiping. If your imprint is naturally a dissenter to the scientific method, a complete rewrite is not out of the picture.
