Ringworld
With surfaces as wide as a planet's circumference, ringworlds wrap around what would be a planet's orbital path of a star, creating the single largest populated structures in the galaxy, possibly universe. Ringworlds are generally seen as the height of a civilization, but with the incredible resource sink that they are, they are few and far between.
Utility
Ringworlds are typically reserved for HUBs of Factions, placed in strategically middling locations within borders to maintain optimal distribution routes between them. It is typical for Ringworlds to harbor Phase Rail stations to maintain a constant flow of people and materials in and out of the rings. The surfaces of Ringworlds are typically that of entire planets, with only the most expensive and densest of them being akin to Ecumenopolises.
Social Impact
Among the entire galaxy, Ringworlds are seen as the end-all-be-all of wealth, luxury, and physical living. Completely self sufficient and without resource scarcity, many strive to leave the confines of their homeworlds to live on these monumental structures.
Access & Availability
Constructing a Ringworld typically requires around a thousand solar system's worth of planetary resources. A drop in the bucket for the galaxy at large, but a huge undertaking, even for the most advanced Factions.
