Love Wiring

When individuals are Love Wired, the effects are actually rather simplistic. The user's brain is hard-wired - unable to naturally change or alter it's neural pathways - to experience the most powerful form of "romantic love" towards another creatures. In human terms - the species who used Neural Restructuring for this purpose - consider Love Wiring to be a permanent "Honeymoon stage" with one's significant other(s). This induces feelings of extreme attraction, lust, and joy towards one another, inducing a chemical addiction within the brain towards the feelings given over time. When apart for long periods of time, feelings can grow quickly to extremes, often making Love Wired individuals drastically more illogical than others when making decisions; for many, the potential downsides outweigh the extreme highs that can be experienced when Love Wired, especially considering the almost drug-like highs are never numbed, subdued, or subsided.

Love Wiring one's brain is a process that's relatively simple, but extremely difficult to undo, not because of the inability to simply reverse the process, but to lower the complications of the side effects. With the consent of two individuals, as Love Wiring must (legally) be done in pairs or more, the individuals' brains are physically changed, literally hard wired via neuron connections to experience the heights of "romantic love" towards one another. This process is actually relatively easy to do, via a non-invasive surgery that takes only a few minutes.   Due to the incredibly strong side effects of Love Wiring, the process is essentially irreversible. While the individuals could easily survive the removal of the hard-wire, it is almost guaranteed that the fallout of the effects of the hard-wire leads to extreme depression, self-harm, and, in over 60% of cases, eventual suicide. Due to these risks, Love Wiring is considered permanent - you would need to be completely digitized and rewritten to undo the effects, something that many people are simply not willing to do, nor is it easy or cheap.

The most interesting and arguably most impactful part of Love Wiring is that, due to Genetic Immortality allowing for individuals to essentially never die, Love Wiring has shown to increase the amount of years that individuals are willing to live by hundreds of years; studies with on-going experiments about how long Love Wiring can extend a creature's life are some of the longest studies in the galaxy, as more often than not, the study simply concludes that Love Wiring can potentially cause creature to want to live forever.
