Blood Hound

An illegal vigilanti assasins guild in Mirror's Edge started by Rust as a result of his attempt to do some actual good in the world and his determination to responsibly make use of Loki 's special power. Stated when a neighbor asked them to help her find her kidnapped stepdaughter and grandson Rust realized they could do something about the ridiculous crime rate and the lack of police force in Mirror's Edge due to the War of Freedom . Their targets usually ended up dead as Rust was disenchanted with the value of human life a long time ago and frankly had a stricken better kill them now than wait for them to kill again view on violence, Loki was long since desensitized to killing through no fault of his own and the various experiments and brainwashing he was forced to endure, though he doesn't remember it, and Doc lost her medical license a long time ago and was more interested in saving the innocent. As a result, they were more of an assassin's group than just a group of bounty hunters or mercenaries.   At first, they worked mostly for favors, cheaper rent, free food, and maybe some money here or there. Sometimes they'd pick up new members from clients or even just fans. By the time Mirror's Edge was destroyed the town as a whole trusted them more than the actual police force.   When the town was bombed out of nowhere Blood Hound lost a lot of members in the resulting chaos, but the original three, as well as a few others, survived leaving the ruined town but never quite settling down anywhere. Here they became more like mercenaries. No longer able to work for favors they worked for hire and were eerily efficient due to the 'now' secret weapon, Loki. Sometimes even being hired by the government themselves. Several of these missions brought them into direct contact with Dante and Archer.   When the war ended they moved into a more stable role as bounty hunters and assassins. Careful to ensure they weren't targeting the innocent.   Conflict rose up when Rust started taking shortcuts. Cutting corners and cheating their clients. Loki began to feel like Rust was getting greedy. All coming to a head when one of Rust's shortcuts ended in Loki accidentally killing an innocent man.   Rust managed to convince his irate secret weapon that he hadn't intentionally misled him, but that was all his outstanding persuasion skills could manage. Loki quit and left the guild.   Blood Hound had a good number of members by this point and they were still functional without him, but it took the wind out of all of them. They considered themselves to be a family, and Loki made friends easily. Greaving they never quite managed to return to the fame and popularity they'd enjoyed in Mirror's Edge.   Then Rust got word that King was still alive.   Terrified that the tyrant would learn of the success of his experiment and horrified that he would find Loki he abandoned all of their clients, all of their contracts, and all of their jobs and focused solely on finding his prodigal son.   Though how do you find a shapeshifter that could be anyone, anywhere?   Answer: You don't. You piss them off and make them find you.   He came up with the plan to start a terrorist tirade on highly populated high schools on the off chance that Loki went back to his old dream of being a normal teenager. But mostly he hoped the publicity of these horrendous attacks would draw Loki out and force him to confront them no matter where he'd hidden. Blood Hound wasn't thrilled, particularly Doc, who'd taken Loki's usual spot as the sniper of the group, but after swearing he wouldn't ask them to actually kill anyone and if there were any real casualties they would immediately stop and insisting that Loki was in serious danger, though he didn't tell them from who or what the danger was, he convinced them to follow him.
