Temple of Eir

Headed by High Priestess Bonoakli, the healing temple of the goddess Eir is located in Salvaernia, Vaustille-Kalos. Their mission is to spread the protection, help, and mercy of Eir through worship services, short-term on-site medical services, physician home visits, sanctuary in times of need, and charity work for the community; which includes an occasional soup kitchen, when they can afford enough food supplies, to perform outreach for the city's abundance of impoverished individuals. Healing is performed either through a prowess of magickal skills suited to the ailment or through natural ingredients and techniques.

The presence of competent medical professionals within city limits is lower than demand, so despite not having specialized doctors and equipment or an abundance of healing chambers for ailing patients, the temple stays busy much of the time.

The temple is funded by the generous donations and offerings from their attending patrons, all of which goes to expenses such as food, fresh medical supplies, and paying bills. They supply a small portion of their own food with a vegetable and medicinal herb garden out back. Although not all citizens partake of their hospitality, the temple and its inhabitants are held in high esteem by the community.

They also pride themselves as an orphanage and rehabilitation center for displaced girls. Those of working age are assisted in finding wage-earning jobs at local businesses to learn a trade and be taught useful life skills. The girls are also expected to give part of their time in service at the temple as a Temple Hand, helping with housekeeping, patient care, and worship set-up and tear-down. In return, the girls are given nourishment, fellowship, and a safe place to call home. Some are even taught in the ways of healing. Many of the girls are eventually adopted by members of the community and leave to start a new life with their adoptive families.
