Chaedi (SHAY-dee)
Viscountess Chædi Melruth- Ildroun (a.k.a. Shady)
An elf lady who lives in Rhys, Chædi is the daughter of a minor noble. Though her family has a title, they are a merchant family, and Chaedi works in her father's shop, helping with customers and deliveries.
She met Osmorn one day when she had a delivery to a tavern where he was playing, and she spoke with him for a while after his performance.
There was never meant to be a relationship here. Chædi and Osmorn just found each other easy to talk to and had a simple, uncomplicated friendship for a year or two. They were both unimportant children in their respective families.
But things change.
Had Osmorn been a recognized scion of his family's house, they might have gone differently. A marriage between them would have solidified her family's standing and wouldn't have hurt his family at all. Even as a half-elf Osmorn would have made a decent husband for a few decades and the bond would have persisted between their houses after he died and Chædi chose a new spouse.
However Laniatte Maeir was opposed to the match, as it would have legitimized Osmorn as a member of their house and the society, and she wouldn't have that. So despite Chædi's feelings, despite her family's feelings, the affair between them was turned into a cause to exile Osmorn.
Though she grieved for the loss of her beloved bard, Time heals all wounds, somewhat faster when your family applies pressure. Chædi was rushed into a marriage with a Viscount, and thus gained an increase in rank for her and prestige for her family.
