Hela
Princess Hela Odinsdottir
Hela Odinsdottir is a member of the Asgardian Royal Family, and former Crown-Princess of Asgard, who was imprisoned and had her name struck from all official records after leading a rebellion against her father, leading to the Aesir Civil War.
After the death of her father, Odin All-Father, Hela was freed from her imprisonment, beginning the War of the Worthy in an attempt to trigger Ragnarok. However, she was defeated by her half-siblings Thor and Loki, and sealed back into her prison on Niffleheim by her step-mother, Frigga All-Mother.
In Norse Paganism, she is the goddess of death and destruction, and guardian of the underworld.

Divine Domains
In the Asgardian theology, she is goddess of destruction and conquest.
However, due to her being trapped in Hel, the realm of the unworthy dead, Norseman identified her as goddess of death. In fact, she is perhaps the Aesir with the greatest divergence between her Asgardian and Terran depictions, due to her long imprisonment meaning she had limited contact with Humans, compared to other members of her family.

Personal history
Hela was born to Odin, then only King of Asgard rather than All-Father, and his first wife, the Storm Giantess Queen Grid.
She was taught magic and statecraft by her father, and trained in the arts of combat by her mother and uncle Tyr.
This was the height of wars known collectively as the Conquest of the Nine Realms, and he joined her father on campaign as soon as she was deemed old enough, being given a portion of the Einherjar to command and quickly distinguishing herself as the fierest Warrior and most skilled commander in his army.
For a period, she was hailed as a hero by the Aesir, but this changed when the Aesir-Vanir War ended in a truce, marking the end of the campaign, as Odin announced the Asgardian Empire was complete. Hela believed The Nine Realms should be just the beginning, and sought to continue the conquest beyond the limits of Yggdrasil to become a true galactic power.
When her father refused to condone her plan, she began plotting her rebellion. However, before any open revolt, she first decided to form a council of Worthy, in imitation of her uncle Cul the Serpent. In order to do this, she commissioned seven Uru warhammers, later known as The Hammers of the Worthy, from the Dwarves of Niddavellir. These she gifted to her most loyal generals, as signs of her father and badges of office.
Supported by her Worthy, she lead her forces in open revolt, leading to the Aesir Civil War. Over the following six years, Hela won a number of significant victories, most notably the Massacre of the Valkyrie. However, she could not stand against the full might of the Asgardian Empire and the All-Father, and she was eventually defeated.
Hella was imprisoned on Niffleheim by her father, while her Worthy, along with their hammers and the traitor Einherjar, were executed and imprisoned below Valaskjalf. The Fenris Wolf was also imprisoned below the palace, although he was placed in statis rather than being killed. Her name was made taboo, and all records of her were destroyed; books burned, murals pointed over, and her possessions either repurposed or thrown away.
She spent more than a thousand years imprisoned, but when Odin was killed by the forces of Malekith during the Second Dark Elf Conflict, the spells imprisoning her failed, allowing her to escape and begin plotting her revenge.
In 2015, she put her plans into action, attempting to use a prophesy given to her by her uncle Mimir to force Ragnarok, and the destruction of the Aesir. To begin, she broke into Valaskjalf, opening the Chamber of The Worthy, freeing the Fenris Wolf and reclaiming the Hammers of the Worthy, despite the best efforts of Thor and Frigga All-Mother to stop her.
Rather than selecting new loyal generals, she cast six of the hammers to Earth, forcing the Humans (and Inhumans ) who found them to take on the title and personality of the original weilder. The main purpose of the majority of these new Worthy was simply to distact Earth's superheroes while she enacted her true plan; using a mind-controlled Quake to trigger an erruption of the Yellowstone super-volcano, fulfilling Mimir's Prophesy.
Her efforts were foiled by an alliance of heroes, including the Avengers, Coulson's Team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, and independant opperatives, Hela was defeated in the climactic battle by her younger siblings, Thor and Loki, working together to best her.
She felt back to Niffleheim, but found Frigga All-Mother was waiting for her, and she was sealed back in her prison, to remain trapped until the true Ragnarok, when she would finally fulfil her role in the prophesy.

Contacts & Relations
Hela has been leader of two groups of Worthy, modelled after the council assembled by her uncle, Cul the Serpent. The first consisted of her most trusted generals and advisors, while the second was made up of individuals, primarily Midgardians, being mind-controlled into obedience by one of the Hammers of the Worthy.
Family Ties
Hela is estranged from her family, and until the death of Odin, her half-siblings were not even aware that she existed, as her father had all mention of her struck from the records, and made it illegal to speak her name.
The only family member who she does not consider her enemy is her uncle Mimir, who occupies a uniquely neutral place within the politics of The Nine Realms.
