Birj
Birj is the sixth moon of the planet Marman, in the Lanlak system.
It was once inhabitted by a native sapient species, the Landlaks, but it was wiped clean of life by The Phoenix. One of the only survivors was Terrax, who waited until the phoenix came to the end of its life and then stole its Egg and used his geokinetic powers to bury it deep within the ruined planet, to prevent it from being reborn.
In order to retrieve the egg, Ebony Maw ripped open the moon, leaving it split almost in two.

Ecosystem
The destruction of all life except a few moulds and fungi severly altered the planet's air, becoming toxic to most sapient races.
It also weakened the planet's atmosphere, increasing the levels of background solar radiation to dangerous levels.

Fauna & Flora
Prior to its destruction by the Phoenix, the planet was home to diverse animal, insect, and plant species in addition to the sapient Landlaks.
After it was burned clean, some fungus spores survived and were able to grow on the bare rock, but no other life returned, until the burying of the Phoenix egg. The inherent life-giving aura of the egg allowed plant-life to begin to grow, although these were unique alien plants, rather than any of the now-existinct native species, and no insent or animal life ever returned.
