At the great tourney of the Lion's Den at 936 ASC, a 17 year old freshly knighted Brendyn won the melee in an intense brawl against Elton Hogan. He caught the eye of the viewing Otto Pawt, who was the royal general at that point. He invited him to join the Crown's Guard and Brendyn agreed on the condition he get to wear a mask to hide the scars he had mainted in the tourney. Brendyn served in the Crownsguard for many years, earning a eerie reputation because of his large figure and mask. In 952 when the royal executioner Sir Rosita Farlin died of old age Brendyn was asked to take her place. Although personally Brendyn hates his job of killing without a fight, he does his duty everytime he is called upon.
