Leslie Pellegrino has always had a fascination with nature. Biological nature, of course, and also plate tectonics, weather patterns, seasons, and the interactions therein. This interest led Lelie down the path of being a land surveyor.
On the taciturn side, they often let their actions speak for them. They enjoy the solitude of the open wilderness, but would mind having some solitude with someone others. They tend to associate with Constantine and Ash often due to them traveling the wilds a lot. As a result Leslie have become friends with them often being the voice of reason for the three
When Leslie does speak, they have a Brooklyn accent, that they are kind of embarrassed about. they slowly learn to embrace their accent and become less self conscious about it.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Leslie is lean, narrow of build, and tall. Leslie is still afflicted with the occasional asthma attack, but carries an inhaler for just such an occasion-- usually only triggered by anxiety or intense excitement. Leslie is otherwise considered healthy, and spends a lot of time hiking, climbing, and spelunking as part of their job.
Body Features
Straight, Sandy blond. Striking green eyes. Freckles along the bridge of nose and cheeks. Often wears a Surveyor's suit (leather-esque material which pads the knees, and forearms. No noticeable scarring, but it is noted by the Freelancer at some point that Leslie has rough, calloused hands.
Facial Features
Narrow chin. Freckles along bridge of nose and cheeks. Hair often flops over to one side and in the way of right eye (common idle animation includes Leslie blows at their hair to get it out of their face). Has a piercing in right eyebrow. Often smiles in 'half smiles', or crooked smiles.

Personal history
Leslie hails from a wealthy background. Their family holds positions of high influence in the Resonant Collective. Leslie grew up on ships and space station outposts, tutored by the finest educators that credits could obtain and under the careful eyes of their parents. Well educated, but wild, Leslie knew they wanted out of the government figure life and wanted to put boots on the ground on one of these new, terraformed planets from a young age.
When Leslie finally became of age, Leslie bolted as soon as they could (much to the chagrin of their parents who'd hoped that at the least, Leslie would consider a career in the military so as to secure their future).
Leslie arrived on the planet Gaia a few decades after Nexus City had really hit its stride, and was one of the first people to answer the call to join the outpost town, Ring Town when the opportunity became available. Now, Leslie puts their vast education to use in the study of the land around Ringtown and to provide feedback to the town officials.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Leslie, obsessed with all things planet related was a star pupil in matters of geology, biology and ecology and earned a few awards in various childhood science fairs regarding their studies into soil, plant matter, and the beginning of their studies into the terraforming projects. Now, as a Land Surveyor, Leslie is considered an expert in their craft, and from time to time, even officials from Nexus City consult with Leslie in matters pertaining to maintaining a balanced ecosystem with their architecture.
Failures & Embarrassments
Despite what Leslie's parents thought, Leslie did have every intention of going into the military. However, Teenage Leslie was an awkward, gangly person and clumsy. When Leslie took the exam to see if Leslie would qualify to get into basic training, they repeatedly made mistakes and after having an anxiety-induced asthma attack was deemed unable to serve in the military (this later prompts Leslie to focus on physical and mental well being, and Leslie ends up sort swinging hard into a very mellow disposition when they're older, which sometimes gets them in trouble with higher-ups in Ring Town).

Leslie is motivated by feelings of exploration and discovery. Leslie doesn't mind recording and noting down what they've found, but finds it tedious and boring to read. Leslie is a do-er and prefers hands-on work and discovery rather than hiding away behind books or spending too much time in a lab.

Leslie is inquisitive, curious and excitable about what they do-- specifically, excited about nature and being out in it. Knowledgable about plants, animals, and geography, Leslie is a handy partner to have if one wants to know the ins and outs of Gaia post terraform.
Vices & Personality flaws
Leslie, while knowledgable about Gaia, doesn't care to write or share the information except for orally. Which proves problematic when trying to track their work. Leslie hates being cooped up in a lab, and it shows. When Leslie is cooped up inside for too long, they become irritable-- borderline insolent.
Leslie is largely indifferent to most townspeople, excluding their closest friends-- Constantine and Ash.
Leslie has a serious sugar addiction, and Constantine notes on more than one occasion that if it weren't for Leslie's activity levels, Leslie would be in very poor health because of their bad diet choices.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Constantine and Ash are Leslie's closest friends. Leslie will often do work for other townspeople, but isn't particularly interested in making deeply personal relationships with them.
It's hinted, in-game, that Leslie took an instant liking to the Freelancer, possibly because of the vast overlap in what they're both interested in (exploring, etc).
Leslie has a close professional relationship with the town officials.
Family Ties
Leslie does keep contact with their parents who, despite having their reservations about Leslie's career choices, are ultimately proud to see their child prospering on a new frontier planet.
Hobbies & Pets
Leslie has some mild Steve Irwin vibes when it comes to wildlife on the Frontier, and Leslie sort of considers them to ALL be their pet.
Leslie has the following hobbies:

Plant tasting (trying to eat new plants they discover. Mixed results ensue).
Speech
Because Leslie grew up in space stations and in densely populated areas, Leslie has something of a 'city slicker' talk about them. A lot of local slang (that maybe others aren't so familiar with) gets mixed in to their day-to-day speech.
Leslie speaks with a faster cadence than some, as in the urban lifestyle they grew up with, people tended to talk fast and to the point (as folks tended to be busier/had more to do).
An example of such phrasing might include:
"You're hoverin' in the wrong dockin' bay, frien'." (the equivalent to: "you're barking up the wrong tree." or, "You're asking the wrong person").
