Ser Leena Pomplecock III was born to House Viscoggle the daughter of two noble Gnomes, who expected much of her and her four sisters. The youngest and most ambitious, Leena decided to embark on a naval career.

During the Great Islar Rebellion, while a Lieutenant on the HHS Intrepid, the Captain and First Mate were killed during a rogue explosion of cannon misfire, leaving Leena as acting Captain. Leena held the line against the barrage of cannons by revolutionaries and counter-flanked them, leading the gunners away from the main fleet, in a stunning feint and display of bravery. She was promoted to Commander and given land in Malmouth Keep, and twice-decorated.
She is ambitious, cunning, educated, witty, and often courted, and once divorced. It is rumored her ex-husband, the gnome scholar Lord Scyle Carrotbuckle, is dead at the bottom of the ocean, as he disappeared shortly after the divorce proceedings.
