The Ching Empire
A vast empire that occupies great swaths of land in the East.
Structure
Ching is organized with an emperor at the top and a vast bureaucracy below him. There is a separate class of nobles and another separate class of generals.
Assets
Ching has numerous cities and forts. It is incredibly wealthy off of the spice trade. The empire can amass an army of 100,000 soldiers and 50 spellcasters as well as a navy of 200 ships.
Demography and Population
The Ching Empire has a population of 89% Eastlanders, 5% Vishkanyas, and 6% Coldlanders. The Coldlanders and Vishkanyas are in the Empire due to its conquests and only a fraction of a percent of them are in the core of the empire.
Territories
Ching occupies a large potion of the Eastlands. Most of its core territory consists of mountains, forests, and floodplains. It has also expanded into the Coldlands and the Southern Vishkanya-occupied region of the Eastlands.
Military
The Ching military is lead by five generals and two admirals. Four of the generals represent each of the cardinal directions with the last being an overall commander. The two admirals represent North and South.
Most of the Ching infantry have spears and large, square-shaped shields. They carry thick, curved swords as sidearms. The Ching also have an elite force of greatswordmen acting as an anti-cavalry force.
Their archers almost exclusively use crossbows. They have many variations of crossbows used for many different purposes.
The Ching cavalry use long and thick lances and have no shields. They are shock cavalry, charging into enemy lines to break them.
The Ching navy uses large ships that are primarily designed for boarding actions, with high walls to shield soldiers while they close in.
Religion
The Ching worship the ten gods with a primary emphasis on the dragon god Menzang, the patron god of their empire. They also venerate their ancestors.
Foreign Relations
The Ching Empire has trade relations with most of the nearby nations. However, they have tense relations with serf and slave-holding nations. Both are outlawed within Ching, with slavery being punishable by death. The Ching navy constantly attacks slave ships and returns the slaves to their homelands.
