Ys Island

Welcome novice initate in the greater mysteries. Know that to be selected, as you have been, to be instructed in the arts of summoning, sorcery and thaumaturgy, as you have, is a great honor and privilege, and not to be wasted. Your days at the academy will be filled with many wondrous sights, the likes of which few have seen. Ys Island is a floating island, floating between five of the Yroldé Continent's archipelago islands. Mind your step.

Yes, you read that right, when you attend Ys Island Academy, you are actually on a floating island between five aquatic islands, in the middle of the Dreaming Sea. One important difference is that the academy is on the flat underside of the Island, not in the part of the city surrounding the volcano atop it.

Students are expected to avoid any lava that escapes containment from the volcano, and should report such to their proctors. Care should be taken to avoid any vertically-running streams, as such indicates runaway magical fields that may be dangerous to the unwary.

Any tombs and cemetaries on the island are routinely used as necromantic power sources, equally, students should avoid any warning signs that mention of elemental summonings or that of first-to-third circle summonings except on the advice of their teachers.
