The Shogunate

The Shogunate is the biggest forvce in the galaxy. They are teschnically called "The Okuninushi Corporation but nobody calls them that.

Supervising most of the space mining efforts, they have a large and advanced military force with which they enforce their rules.

Territory

Except for the very edges of the galaxy and a select few rebel systems or planets, the Shogunate rules everything. Any planet with valuable resources was quickly snatched up and depleted.

Rebel Systems

These Planetary Systems have either negotiated a deal with the Shogunate, are 'just not worth the effort' of being conquered or are actively at war with the Shogun.

Sojobo System

The Dai have negotiated a treaty that ensures their independence in exchange for their services as diplomats and politicians. They provide the Shogunate with skilled negotiaters and the Shogun leaves them in peace.

Rakshasa System

After the First Shogun failed to subdue the Hannya, he made a pact of non-agression with them. While the Shogunate is now technically strong enough to stage a take-over, they still respect this agreement. Oni Prime and the other planets under Hannyan control are all relatively poor in resources which might be another reason why the Shogunate shows very little interest in them. They do however often hire Hannyan mercenaries.

Hierarchy

At the very top sits The Shogun. They have control over the militia and are capable of issuing commands to every officer of the Shogunate.

Directly underneath the Shogun stand the Daimyo. They are commanders of battlefleets, Supervisors of the Mines in an entire Planetary System and System-Presidents.

Next are the Samurai. They are Foremen of Mines. CO's of a ship and other commanding roles. Some govern entire planets.

Miners, Soldiers and those that live on planets under the Shogunates rule are the lowest class. They do not have any special power and are simply normal citizens.

Ronin

Any Shogunate Officer of Rank Samurai or higher that has left their position is called a Ronin. They are often hunted by the Shogunate and either forced to rejoin or executed so they cannot reveal any sensitive info.
