Shogun

The Shogun is the highest authority within the Shogunate. They are technically the CEO of Okuninushi Corporation, a company so big it has considerable political power.

Inheritance

Since it is a CEO position it could be passed to someone who is not a member of the First Shoguns family. So far however, every Shogun has been a relative of his.

A Shogun can nominate a candidate as their sucessor but the Board of Directors has to vote on it.

War of Succession

When Yamamoto Hideaki died without naming a successor a war between his sons broke out. The Board of Directors favored the younger brother, Yamamoto Kichirou, while the employees favored Yamamoto Rin, the older. Fierce debates were had, in private and on air, before the board was ready to name a new Shogun. However, the day before the announcement, Yamamoto Rin died in a hovercraft accident. It is unclear if this was orchestrated or an actual accident. Yamamoto Kichirou became the Third Shogun.

Past Shoguns

There have been four Shoguns so far.

First Shogun

Yamamoto Arata, The Founder of Okuninushi Corp. Under his lead the company grew and became a moderatly sized organisation, still far from its current power. He ran the company for 26 years before passing it to his son at the age of 60.

Second Shogun

Yamamoto Hideaki took it upon himself to expand his fathers company. Here the corporation started to take on the role and size it is now. Yamamoto was ruthless and aggressive, taking over smaller buisinesses and sabotaging competitors. He died without naming a successor.

Third Shogun

Yamamoto Kichirou became Shogun under suspecious circumstances. Displeased parties, convinced that he had ordered his brothers death, schemed and ultimately assassinated the Third Shogun just three years after he came to power. Since he had no children, the Shogunate passed to his paternal aunt.

Fourth/Current Shogun

Yamamoto Moriko is the oldest Shogun to ever lead Oku-Corp. She is somewhat advanced in age and rumour has it she has already chosen her successor. The company had kept expanding under her lead. Not as aggressively or explosively as it had under the first and second, but it noticably grew. She is know for her cunning and skilled manipulation, sabotaging competitors like her brother did and offering to buy them out when they are at their most desperate.
