The High Note & The Low Note

Do you hear the Song of the Night?

Symbols and Appearance

Also known as the Two Tones are often depicted as an old couple, of varying races and species. One often holding an old and worn violin, the other with a beautiful singing voice.

Domains and Worship

The Night is their realm. The quiet beauty of a sleeping land as well as the monsters that hide away in its shadows.

Followers and Temples

Ceremonies are conducted at midnight, under a moonless sky. It is when beauty and terror become one.
"Does the Night sing to you? Does it whisper its secrets into your ears? Filling them with things no mortal should ever be aware of? Does it show you horrifying beauty and serene destruction alike? ”

Legends and Myths

Lonely Children
It is said that the two miss nothing more than their grandchildren. They tend to take in orphans and raise them according to their wishes, some say it is the best thing that can happen to an orphan, others call it a terrible tragedy...
Darkness
It is said that the Darkness would approach both of them at times, trying to make them see a common cause, but whenever one would falter, the other would prop them up again, fortifying against the onslaught of nothingness.

History

The Two Tones are among the older of the minor gods. Over the years they have served as the patrons of many different churches, countries and cults. Terrible things have been done in their name and just as much was done to compensate for that. No one still remembers the story of their ascension, although some may claim that they were the parents to the ancestral gods of Hyperborea.

Instruments

An instrument blessed by the divine power of the Two Tones can turn even a beginner into a master. True masters, however, are able to bring forth their innate magic and accomplish feats that are still sung about generations later.

The Chorus

Anyone who plays this sheet of music is said to be able to view deep into the realm of the gods, moving even them to tears. Playing it will surely gather their favour, too bad that it has been lost for ages.
