General Information

As you know, this continent is gigantic. Therefore it is of utmost importance to the Colonial Offices to ensure that transportation is working as efficiently and fast as possible. In the past, the smartest minds of the old Kingdoms have worked tirelessly to come up with a solution to this problem. A hundred years ago they had the breakthrough necessary to put our dreams into reality.
They selflessly used their own lands and cities to test and perfect it, until the technology was ready to be put into work on this continent as well. Eighty years ago the first stations and connections were built between the four major cities, greatly supporting the rebuilding effort after the so called "First War for Liberation". Now the time has come to further the ties that bind us to each other.

How it Works

While the exact specific has to be kept a secret, the general can, and should, be shared with the people. Let us take the very first line we built as an example. Leading from Bullwark to the Scar. The magic of the ancients suffuses everything on this continent, in the people we see the Remaking as a result of that, while the buildings and cities of the ancients had millennia to drink it in.
Their remaining buildings carry that magic forward and allow us to create great wonders of arcane and technological marvel. Distilled through a secret process, this rubble can be re-purposed and used to create the rails along which we move the world. If you have not seen such a lifeline yet, imagine them the following way, but do not fret, you will see one soon! Roughly three feet in width and long enough to connect cities, reinforced with brass, bronze and copper. They are raised above the ground, tall enough for even the tallest Moosefolk to walk beneath them without issue. This allows to account for any change in terrain and makes them incredibly versatile.
Wrapped around those are the wagons that actually transport the cargo and our most valued members of society. This connection allows for the Colonial Officers of the Bullwark to quickly reach the Scar without issue, without the danger that teleportation magic has become here and with the ability to carry their entire office on the wagon, ready to work wherever they go.

Restrictions

As you know, travel along the lines needs to be restricted to stop the spread of seditious elements on the continent. As such only a select few people are allowed to travel freely on the lines, while others need to show a permit, signed and stating all information about their travel. The Blackwater Corporation is proud to be one of the few corporate entities with a standing permit to use the lines for the shipment of goods and personnel.
We are looking forward to a glorious future in which the danger of sedition is stamped out fully, a future in which the lines will be available to all citizens that desire it.
