Alexandrian Academia of Crafts and Warfare

Board of Recollection: The acting governing body of the academy comprises the Deans who run the schools and officials who are meant to keep it running correctly, ensuring that no one within its walls debases its teachings and values.   Branch Deans: Each branch of academia is maintained by a dean who monitors its students' academic and orderly daily life situations, often intervening when necessary.   Hall of Professors : A group of teachers who teach classes in all school subjects and ensure that student stability is maintained.   Custodial Department: This department is comprised of individuals who perform various duties, such as teacher aids, cleaners, guards, and others. They are often the main reason the school is still standing.

Being A Member

  Well, now it is a surprise you have managed to get into one of the most prestigious schools in the empire. Here, one dedicates oneself to the ideals of knowledge to further advance the world around oneself. Inside its walls lie generations of progress built upon the back of the greatest minds that the empire has ever produced, and it has been bestowed upon all who seek to learn and grow in their craft. Finding a seat in such a place is an honor and should not be squandered, as learning is often a lifetime opportunity that very few can ever imagine. It is best to study, work hard, earn a place in an advanced society, and enter a new tomorrow.  

What People Think of You

  In another time, the Alexandrian Academia was once considered a place where all could learn freely, yet that time has passed. While students still learn here, the state controls who gets in and how it will benefit it rather than just society. It has also gained more favor with students in the military branch due to many of their students having political connections from their parents. This has caused tension amongst the scientific community and other parts of the empire, who are denied the same access to opportunities and knowledge that should be available to everyone.

The school's main objective is to teach various studies to allow students to become productive members of the empire in every facet of life.

The Deans

  Mathor Rulen: Head of the Magic Branch and one of the oldest members, serving for over fifty years and known for his extensive knowledge of magic, especially in the Lightning magic.   Renea Otorus: Head of the Alchemy Branch, despite her young age, she has a vast knowledge of transmutation, using it to create new medicines. Quintus Severus : Head of the Warfare Branch. A decorated officer who has since retired from the legions, he ensures that his students know what it genuinely means to be soldiers of the empire. Titos Hults: Head of the Engineering Branch, known for his cold, calculating nature when creating machinery and inventions.

The Teachers

  Adreas Culthos: Former Legatus of the 22nd Legion who has dedicated himself to teaching new officers proper strategy and military history to guide them. Erem Feruvus: Teacher of the Magic Branch whose sole purpose is to teach the next generation of magic and ensure that no one falls to its dark powers. Rusticus Altmen: A generous teacher of the Engineering Branch known for his brief moments of insanity, all in the pursuit of creating new machinery to improve life for people everywhere. Eben Ule Roshan: A newcomer to the Alchemy Branch from the east with a knack for creating effective potions from scratch when necessary. Ulron Pertilese: Famed Builder of various projects that ensure everything he builds is adequately made in the Engineering Branch. Caius Dacron: A former soldier who was forced to retire due to injuries, he is now the Master at Arms of the Warfare Branch, ensuring that every student is trained through grueling exercises and that their minds are sharpened for battle. Laelia Ultem: Assistant teacher to the Magic Branch and head librarian who ensures that all books are kept in place and not stolen, be it Magic or otherwise.

A School of Understanding

When the dust settled from the early days of discontent from his subjects who disapproved of his rule were finally quieted, the newly crowned Alexander Aurelius would transform much of the empire on what it knew of the ideas of magic and the sciences of the current age in the hopes of enlightening his people and casting aside the superstitions surrounded and shrouded them in a veil of ignorance. He did this through many laws and reforms to allow magic users to live freely within the empire without being mistreated and brought foreigners to teach his people the many sciences of the world. But the most crowning achievement of his colossal legacy was the founding of the Alexandrian Academia in Vatia that would teach the future in the ways of enlightenment and understanding for all who sought it. In those times, only spellcasters would join its halls to show the true potential of magic when the trust was placed in its practitioners for the service of the empire. However, as time progressed, the academia grew into new branches that would, through the knowledge of sciences, see the empire's magical and scientific potential fulfilled; much of its history has centered around the idea that great minds can shape the empire with expertise, and many students have walked through its halls over the centuries.  

Burden of Knowledge

  Much has changed since the time of Alexander and his ideas of a better world, as, like all things, they change for better or worse, as the politics of the empire often creep into everything, twisting it and changing it to what they believe is right for them. First, it was the way that magic was used, as many saw the devastating effect it could bring to warfare, coercing spellcasters to become Battle Mages and serve in the Imperial Legions in its many wars. It later gets out of hand when they allow the teachings of Dark Magic to gain an edge over their enemies, only to cause more harm as these dark magic users would rebel leading to the Warlock Uprising with thousands dead in the aftermath, later leading to a ban on the practices that they authorized and closer observation of its mage students to avoid another incident. This did not end here either, as many sought to use the school to the fullest extent possible, creating the warfare branch to allow better-trained officers and soldiers to bolster the empire's military with members of the nobility and influential families to gain favor with them. It has only led to further corruption and stagnation amongst those who work in academia, to a once pure idea of a better world, with it becoming harder now to join it without having some form of political power to gain access to it. The school itself has gone through hard times as well, and the empire's military has become desperate to gain recruits to fill its ranks that had been depleted in the War of the Raptors. This has caused a bit of an uproar among the teachers and some students as the government seeks to gain more troops, transferring other students from other branches to the Warfare Branch and sending them off with less training time. The same can be said for the students from said branch, as going into battle so suddenly without the necessary training can be stressful. It has even been hinted that this is more of a demand than a request, as this conscription decree has been brought to the Deans several times. It resulted in tensions between the school and the state as it tried its best to maintain its educational duties and not become a recruiting station that could squander the future minds of the empire.
