Lifestance Vicissism / Vicissite
The Vicissitude is a lifestance that encompasses the belief that a complete individual consists of a single whole, with no division between the body, mind, and soul. Depending on the exact branch of vicissism, its teachings and practices can incorporate religious elements or be entirely secular in nature.

Etymology & Definition

The name Vicissitude was primarily chosen to exemplify its focus on the transformation of the self into a more complete, but not necessarily improved or more perfect, self.
We're nothing like the Pith of Life. We always have been and always will be opposed to their 'neoevolife' nonsense.   Bioengineering is an invaluable complement to modern day medical care, that is sorely underused. Why should we waste it on 'moving to the next step in evolution' or 'attaining omni-symbiosis'… whatever that means.
Many-Hands, Hierarch of the Font of the Radical Ego
The noun vicissitude is believed to have its heritage in one of the ancient human languages, either from vicissim (adv. in turn) or vice+cessim (adv. in the place of + v. giving away). The suffix -tude is commonly used to form abstract nouns.   Vicissitude is defined as 'a change or variation occurring in the course of something' and 'interchange or alternation, as of states or things'. It's also often associated with the words 'change', 'mutation', and 'mutability'.

Recent History

There's been a rising interest in the Vicissitude, and large improvement in the general public's opinion of it, in the last decade. Most point its return to grace being owed to the efforts of Many-Hands and the Font of the Radical Ego.

Doctrine Under Construction

According to Vicissitude teachings, the self is only complete when there's no distinguishable lines between the body, soul, and mind. Being in a state of wholeness is considered imperative for self-fulfillment, and is said to make one at peace with oneself and one's existence.
Some individuals carry a… dissonance, within them. Maybe they were born with it, or became afflicted with it later in life. But since it's an invisible condition - you can seldom see, hear, taste, or touch it - it can take years before it's diagnosed and properly treated. It might never be fully recognized, by themselves or those around them, as anything else than a feeling of wrongness they are cursed to carry forever.   This dissonance is caused by a fractured self, and a misalignment between the pieces - the body, the mind, and the soul as commonly called - that rarely will heal on its own. This misalignment often increases with time, amplifying the dissonance, and causes a swathe of secondary symptoms: dysphoria, dysmorphia, depression, anxiety, mood swings, reliance on harmful substances, self-harmful or suicidal behavior…   … They need help. They deserve to be helped. It's their right as living, breathing, sapient beings to have happy, fulfilling lives. It's our and our society's duty to help them become able do so.
