I'lix Coalition
Brantyl has always been focused on the bleeding edge of technology. When the Awakening happened, they received a massive influx of super-powered refugees and the chaos that soon followed resulted in them developing technologies to counteract the superhuman "menace" that disrupted things. When Tazan began developing a space elevator, the Brantyl government became quite suspicious and, through a series of espionage actions, were able to acquire the designs to such technology and begin development of their own.
However, things were not well on the rest of the continent that Brantyl called home. A young nation formed from a collection of small cities called Zania exploded in size and strength as a totalitarian regime took over. The fledgling nation fully embraced superpowers with open arms and were the first to deploy them as a dedicated part of their military. Rapid expansions lead to them quickly consuming the western and northern portions of the continent into their domain. Brantyl, not one to sit by, created a coalition with the southern and eastern members of its continent to try and stand against them and it seemed as though the two sides would soon come into conflict.
What neither side expected, though, was the rapid growth of empires across the world in the form of the Northern Suns Federation and the Yedian Union. Seeming to acknowledge the threat that these outside forces could pose, in a twist that surprised the outsiders, both sides came together into a defensive pact. They needed to stand together or they would be torn apart, and by uniting their immense technology and militarized powered populations, they could repel any invaders. It was an uneasy peace, but one that seemed to stand the test of time.
The people of the I'lix Coalition are noted for a mindset focused on both pragmatism and advancement. Bearing the largest information networks of spies, researchers focused on developing new, cutting-edge technology, and military scientists always creating experimental strategies, they bear an image to others in the Imotaiyo Federation as mysterious and always one step ahead.
The Brantylites are a fair-skinned and dark-haired people that wholly embrace technology. Many sport heavy cybernetic augmentation, if not full-body replacements. They can be quite distrustful of outsiders, believing that the often unpredictable chaos that comes from the unknown to be detrimental, but are very pragmatic and will adapt if the situation requires it. The people of Zania are, more often than not, powered in one way or another. Research into "manufacturing" super powers by the nation has allowed it to discover many of the workings of the powered population, and a steady exposure to K-Rads along with an intense eugenics program has ensured that much of its people have become mutants. This shift to a near-100% mutant population has given Zanians a strong sense of superiority to other, more mundane individuals. However, they recognize strength where ever it might lie, and respect those who empower themselves no matter the means. The nations of Vernio and Mailee are sisters that are forever bound together. After breaking away from an empire once known as the Hasan, the twin nations were founded by two brothers that swore a pact to always stand beside one another. While the Vernians serve as a militaristic defender, the Mailee people are the diplomatic heart of the pact. The food from the twin nations are renowned for being incredibly spicy, and have a focus on always bearing five flavors in their meals: sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and, of course, spicy. When Zania was rapidly expanding, it was the two nations that lead negotiations between the coalition to unite together and defend one another from potential invasion. New Lexinal, of all the groups in the I'lix Coalition, are the most curious. An alien people that crash-landed on the world, they established an entire nation built from the remains of their ship. Mysterious and aloof, they have incredible technologies, particularly ones focused around cloaking and disguises. Before the founding of the Imotaiyo Federation, they stood as distant observers, occasionally intervening to help during a crisis before mysteriously vanishing again. Even when they joined the coalition against Zania, they kept the others at arms length, appearing seemingly exactly when they are needed before disappearing. While the formation of the Federation has forced them to open up more, they remain a quiet, private group that help protect the fledgling galactic empire from the shadows.
I'lix technology is, as one may expect, often the most advanced. Practical and effective, their designs are sleek and functional with few frills ever afforded. Magnetism is commonly employed with things such as maglev-trains and railguns being common examples that are pointed to. The I'lix are also the largest producer of "spy-tech" through developments in cloaking equipment and secure communication networks allowing their secretive information networks to operate at a high level of efficiency. Additionally, things produced by the Zanian faction within the I'lix are focused on supporting powered individuals through equipment to help train individuals with super-human strength, wires that allow those with electrical powers to ride upon easily, and bodysuits that help keep people those with temperature-related abilities comfortable in any conditions.
