Victor Curwen
“No man is born great. Greatness is something to be earned.”
Victor Curwen was born the son of Thaddaeus Curwen, a tyrant remembered for abusing his power as High Regent to conquer the entire Reverie Isles. Outraged by his father’s oppressive rule, Victor orchestrated a successful coup against him, ushering forth an era of progress that has since been christened the Victorian Age. Under his leadership, the Crown prospered, and the city of Craven was both ideologically and physically transformed for the better. Educational institutions were consolidated, numerous construction and refurbishment projects were initiated, and most notably, the elves and the dwarves were granted their autonomy, bringing peace to the Isles once more. After a long and exceptional life, death would eventually come for Victor, but not before cementing his already robust legacy with one final change. Just before his passing, he dissolved the position of High Regent, establishing the Sovereign Council in its place so that no individual could inflict damage like that wrought by his father. Despite being a staunch advocate for the separation of church and state, Victor was posthumously declared a saint by the Ministry of Faith, becoming the closest thing Craven has to a founding father.
