The Imagi

The Imagi are a troupe of artists, mages, and idealists who blur the line between performance and protest. Their roots stretch back to the days before the Syzygy, when the veil between worlds was thin, and their founders were touched by the Otherworld: a realm of raw emotion and dreamlike beauty said to fuel their craft. Some Imagi possess the rare ability to cross into it through trance, ritual, or performance, returning with ideas too strange, too wild, or too beautiful for the waking world. In Craven, their presence is most visible on Traderside, where alleys explode with color, music rises at sunset, and masked figures stage guerrilla plays that vanish before the Crownsguard arrive. Wherever they go, they leave more than impressions — they plant the seed in people’s minds that change is possible. At the center of it all drifts the Bohemian, a shapeshifter and creative savant whose fluid form embodies the group’s resistance to the expectations of Victorian society.

They believe that imagination and self-expression are the sharpest weapons against apathy, oppression, and fear. From illusory paintings to their infamous poetry slams, all Imagi works are meant to jolt people from complacency and remind them of the world that could be. While their followers view them as liberators, the powerful scoff, calling them deviants. Though often accused of degeneracy and sedition, the Imagi rarely raise a blade. They understand that violence only invites retaliation against those who believe in them—students, children, common folk—the ones with the most to lose. Even so, they do not back down. Arrests and raids are met with flash mobs and spontaneous recitals, blacked-out murals return overnight in brighter hues. Their structure is loose by design, making them hard to root out and impossible to predict. They answer to no faction, no dogma, only the call to create — and in doing so, offer a glimpse of a freer, more radiant world.
