Syllara is a force of unyielding radiance, her power bound to the blazing Sun she commands. Twin to Syrena, goddess of the Moon, she completes a cosmic duality that governs both day and night across the Material Plane. Yet where the Pale Maiden embodies yearning and continuous change, Syllara’s nature is defined by clarity and unerring purpose. Her avatar most often appears as a blindfolded elven huntress—athletic and platinum-haired—clad in shining mail and armed with a fearsome golden bow. Wherever She walks, the very heavens brighten, for in her presence truth is inescapable, and her light sears away all shadows of falsehood.
Her blindness is both vow and sacrifice, a sacred wound earned in the war against the Primordials when she stood on the front lines to secure victory for creation. Though robbed of sight, her senses only sharpened, and her arrows fly truer than those of any mortal archer. To her faithful, this wound stands as proof that even a goddess may bleed in defense of what is just. Yet her teachings also caution that the zeal of her pursuit can be all-consuming, for law enforced without mercy risks slipping into tyranny. To worship Syllara, one must understand that justice demands more than words — it requires courage, discipline, and absolute devotion.
The Blind Huntress inspires those who seek redemption and those sworn to preserve order, from soldiers and barristers to common folk yearning for fairness in an unkind world. Her followers believe three simple tenets: every sin bears consequence, every virtue earns reward, and every action—be it evil or good—is answered in kind. In times of chaos, her faith endures as an eternal oath that justice may be delayed by mortal hands, but as long as the Sun still heralds dawn, it can never be denied. In her constancy, mortals find both hope and warning: her light is a beacon that does not waver, and all who stray must prepare to face her judgment.
Holy Day of Syllara — The Oathbearer’s Trials, traditionally held on Midsummer, are great contests of strength, speed, and skill that have endured since the Old World. From first light until the setting of the Sun, competitors take to fields and ranges to prove their prowess beneath Syllara’s Glory. All are welcome to enter, for the Blind Huntress favors not birth nor station, but the bravery to stand and be tested. Victory matters less than the honesty of the effort, though winners are rewarded handsomely.
Taboo Practice — The Caterachists are a militant order who blind themselves in emulation of Syllara, believing true sight comes only once the eyes are darkened. With their vision taken, they claim to perceive the divine commandments of the Blind Huntress more purely, unclouded by mortal weakness or temptation. But in their fanaticism, they twist her creed of justice into a mandate for rigid law and cruelty, enforcing punishment without mercy or moderation, striking down dissenters as heretics.
