Dante Emberlight
“There’s a fine line between bravery and stupidity. No, I won’t elaborate.”
Dante Emberlight hailed from a prestigious line of planar explorers whose journeys into the Infernal Plane infused their otherwise human heritage with fiendish magic. After the Syzygy rendered all previous extraplanar models obsolete, Dante took up the challenge of remapping the Multiverse, using naturally occurring gates and rifts to traverse the planes, rather than traditional spellcasting. It was he who coined the term “Nine Realms,” which is still utilized by scholars to this day. Dante was notorious for frequently violating the vows of non-interference adhered to by his predecessors, which yielded an unparalleled insight into the lives of supernatural beings that was sorely lacking in contemporary perspectives. He is also remembered for being one of the first to chart expeditions into the Otherworld, collaborating closely with the author Maudlin Bramblestein. Tragically, this luminary’s promising career was unceremoniously cut short in a pub brawl, ending before it could even truly begin.
