Chaoskampf
“The struggle between order and chaos is ubiquitous. There’s always a serpent, there’s always a battle, and there’s always a storm.”
In the beginning, the Multiverse was an untamed place of endless possibilities, where primordial chaos reigned supreme. From this chaos, the gods were born, bringing structure to the cosmos and banishing the primordial chaos forever. But just as the gods rejected their own source of creation, their first offspring, the Titans, rose up against them and plunged the world into a new kind of turmoil.
The Thunderer, lord of lightning and master of the skies, arose as the greatest warrior among the gods. Standing against him was the largest and mightiest of the Titans: The World Serpent, whose coiled form wrapped around the world itself like a python around its prey. Their battle was without pause or mercy, raging across the planes like a fierce and unrelenting tempest.
The Thunderer’s hammer clashed against the World Serpent’s scales, blood and thunder heralding each blow. They were evenly matched, for the World Serpent was immortal and could not be slain by mere force of arms. So the Thunderer, in a desperate attempt to defeat his foe, did the unthinkable: he drew the Titan’s spirit from its body, imprisoning it within his hammer, then hurled its corporeal form into the sea.
But chaos is eternal, and its struggle against order will never truly end. One day, the Thunderer and the World Serpent will clash again, and the cycle of creation and destruction will continue on. Until then, reality rests in a fragile balance: the calm before the inevitable storm.
