Xyphoril

Dust Drop

Overview

Xyphoril is a locally produced, crude pharmaceutical used exclusively on Xyphadon-67 to counteract the toxic effects of Xyphitic Dysphoria caused by inhalation of Giggle Dust.
The substance is derived from low-grade residual Xyphite and processed into an injectable solution. While not a cure, Xyphoril temporarily suppresses respiratory distress, neurological symptoms, and emotional instability, allowing labourers and prisoners to continue functioning in the hazardous conditions of the Prison Pits of Xyphadon.

Mechanism of Action

Xyphoril acts systemically to reduce inflammation in the lungs and dampen neurological overstimulation caused by Xyphite particulate. During administration, users experience a pronounced stinging sensation at the injection site, which can radiate into the extremities. This sting is a known side effect and is regarded as an indicator that the medication has entered the bloodstream and begun to counteract the disease.

Usage and Limitations

  • Xyphoril is prepared and distributed primarily by prisoners themselves, often through barter or improvised production methods.
  • Dosage is inconsistent, and the effects are temporary, typically lasting only hours before symptoms of Xyphitic Dysphoria begin returning.
  • Overuse can exacerbate long-term health complications, but there is no formal monitoring or regulation; survival often depends on access rather than safety.
  • Xyphoril does not cure the illness, and reliance on the injections only mitigates symptoms temporarily.

Cultural and Economic Notes

Xyphoril is a lifeline for those working in the pits. Its scarcity and the hazardous conditions of production make it a critical resource for survival. Access is determined entirely by prisoners themselves, who barter and improvise production methods to maintain a supply.
The The Ensari Auralis Group does not supervise, regulate, or interfere with the manufacture or distribution of Xyphoril in any official capacity; the corporation’s interest is solely in continued labour output.
