The Argent Blade

An ancient masterly crafted long sword at present wielded by the legendary Luther Hilvorn, the Argent Blade is light and strong, its edge capable of piercing even the modern composite armours of the Albion Strike Team Elites. In the hands of Luther, it is a weapon of incredible swiftness, cutting down any and all that are foolish enough to stand in the path of the Knight. He wields it with a skill that to some must be magically augmented so fast and deft is it, yet Luther Hilvorn's skill with the blade, and indeed any similar weapon, comes from intense practise and devotion to the art. In the hands of a lesser user, it would still be dangerous though its lightness would be a detriment to the unpractised. It is wrought of unknown metals and forged by unknown means and how the legendary Knight Luther Hilvorn came upon it he does not say and no one else knows.

It has been in Luther's possession for a decade now and in that time many have been cut down by it. Fortunately, Luther does not relish combat or the taking of lives. He will invariably offer to spare those who stand against him mercy, preferring to avoid the spilling of blood unless absolute necessary. Those who accept he spares, and those who refuse he will fight, dancing a maelstrom of flashing steel, cutting down his enemies with precise cuts and thrusts. Of course, should he see a foe who has committed a great sin or is truly undeserving of mercy, Luther will not hesitate to unsheathe the Argent Blade and unleash his righteous fury upon the transgressor with no quarter given.

Of course, a great many have tried to steal the Argent Blade from Luther. A multitude of collectors would pay fortunes to see it amongst their collections whilst there are fighters who see possessing it as proof of their greatness. Luther has refused every offer to purchase the Blade from him, vast sums that would allow him to live out his days in peace and luxury. And of those who seek to take the blade by force, by challenging him to a duel, he will always seek to dissuade. Those that foolishly press on and instigate violence Luther will usually be merciful toward, wounding them in a way to teach a lesson they will hopefully remember. The truly belligerent Luther will kill, again with great reluctance.

The Blade, along with its wielder, have become symbols of hope in dark times. Luther is a paragon of virtue, a Knight whose moral code and desire to protect those who cannot protect themselves and to fight evil and injustice wherever he finds it are legendary. In the hands of a less noble wielder who seeks only violence and fame, the Argent Blade would be a symbol of tyranny and cruelty.
