General Information
Identity: Zealot of Disaster (Tempest Cleric of Teiva, Goddess of Nature ), Death Row Convict, Captain of the Stormblood Pirates
Bellamy Abigail is a rookie pirate and Zealot of Disaster quickly rising in power and notoriety. He intends to instill fear into The New World as a tool for natural balance and remind the world that Teiva has and always will rule this world by naming it "Teivora"
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
He is a very sharp yet worn down individual. He appears eager to move yet seems perpetually exhausted while carrying himself with a sort of finesse unusual for the heavy obsidian armor he wears.
Body Features
When Bellamy is undressed, it's clear that this sleek but hardy physique was formed through constant conflict and survival. It is scattered with an assortment of large and small cuts, bruises, and injuries; some decades old and some made this very day.
Facial Features
His face is adorned with powerful blue eyes, thick furrowed eyebrows, and a thin beard along the jawline that grows in depth along the chin; naturally growing into five sharp points up his face with one cut off by a scar on his left side.
Identifying Characteristics
Bellamy can be easily noticed by his denim billed hat that is common among locals of Leandros along with his curly black hair pulled in a large ponytail.
Special abilities
Bellamy is granted divine magic that taps into the powers of natural disasters such as earthquakes, storms, and even plagues. Many of his most powerful spells are AOE such as ice storm, shatter, and call lightning; but can be difficult to use when allies are present without friendly fire.
Apparel & Accessories
Bellamy almost never wears casual style clothing, deciding to always wear his sleek obsidian armor with a blue worn tabard pinned by his gorget (clavicle armor) that is engraved with the storm insignia of Teiva. He also has a denim cap seen in his home island.
Specialized Equipment
- Amulet of the Devout +2: created when Teivora struck Bellamy’s executioner with lightning. It is a badge of honor of sorts that has the lightning symbol of Teivora seared onto it via thunderbolt. It’s static to the touch.
- Storm Branch: a magical stick in the shape of a scimitar with jagged teeth along its dull blade. Its’ strikes burst with electricity upon impact. Formed by a tree struck by lightning.
- Mithral plate: By stealing this set of obsidian colored plate armor made of mithril, its lightweight nature makes it sound and feel as though Bellamy had no sort of heavy armor on him in the first place, making it unusually easy to disappear as he pleases.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Bellamy was born and raised in the snowy nation state of Leandros with his parents. Living in the middle class area where his father and mother worked as local doctors/physicians who’d get clients from the middle class and even reach out to the lower class areas without charging them. Bellamy was very shy and homeschooled by his parents so he had very few friends; but was content with playing by himself or with his parents.
When Bellamy was 9, A wealthy looking man approached his family’s clinic. He offered his parents an opportunity to move into the upper-class area and work as part of his very well known clinic. They declined the offer because they were content where they were and wanted to keep ownership of their materials to continue their outreach to the poor. Their house was broken into by four men the next night. The parents manage to sneak Bellamy out of the house, but everything was robbed and they were murdered. In fear, he attempted to find the city guard to help him, but he saw one of the criminals by a guard down the block handing him gold. Fearful and in tears, he ran away into the city streets as his home burned down.
For the next 15 years, Bellamy would struggle to survive the slums of Leandros; learning to steal from others, reading into people’s intent for his safety, and hiding from anything that would hurt him. When he was 19, times grew colder and even worse in Leandros as the slums were starving more than usual. Bellamy would have to kill in self defense as thugs would assault him, a thing he’d begin to do often by necessity. He would make himself suppress his emotions along with his feelings towards others aside from disdain to handle the weight of taking lives for his own and simply managing his situation; the beginning of his spiral downward.
As time passed, a legitimate hatred began to brew in his heart for people, the “average” that would pretend to not see a child in the streets and the cruel that’d put him there. With this and no real purpose for him to live, he decided to seek out the men that killed his parents and ruin his future. They were easy to find, they were well known for selling drugs in the area not just for addicts, but to those with genuine illnesses as well. This business was profitable enough to not truly be affected by his parent’s charity, they could afford to keep the city guard quiet when they broke in, but it seems they decided they were encroaching on their growing business and killed them for it. Despite getting his revenge, seeing their bodies did not make him feel any better, and this moment would be the tipping point into his years as a sociopath.
Bellamy’s memories of this time are somewhat fuzzy, but he always remembers the people he’d meaninglessly murder very clearly. Especially Ermanguard, an upper class man who reached his hand out to him only for Bellamy to slit his throat in response. The guard never even blinked when he killed another street rat, but when he began killing middle-class citizens they warned the city of “The Ragged Killer” but only intensely investigated and captured him when he killed the upper-class man.
When he was thrown into the executioner’s stand in a city square, he felt nothing for the people watching him. It was obvious that many in the crowd were victims of the people he killed, but a majority of the ones he murdered he felt either deserved it or assaulted him first; their hatred meant nothing to him even before he was a sociopath. There was a single girl in the crowd, however, that he noticed that looked a lot like the last man he killed; with a look that contrasted with the hatred. She seemed to be 10 or so and had the look of a child that had lost everything while not knowing why, looking around as though she was afraid of what she’d do after this moment. Despite his emotions gone and his empathy missing, he saw perfectly that he had forced the exact same fate he was given to this girl without remorse. He had become the very thing that ruined him and for no reason. At that moment whatever was lost to him emotionally or even spiritually had returned, and he could finally feel the weight of the unnatural cruelty he committed. With tears in his eyes, his look of blank disdain became sorrowful shame as he encouraged the executioner to do the job.
Before the executioner’s blade could reach his neck, the ground began to shake violently and lightning cracked in a sudden stormy sky. A white bolt would strike the executioner dead in an instant and the crowd would scatter in panic. As Bellamy was freed from his shackles, he isn’t able to think as the raised platform crumbles and he’s thrown into the crowd. His instincts overcame any other feeling as he fled the city, disaster seeming to follow his trail with lightning and quakes. The only thing he saw that remained unshaken was the girl, who stood still among the chaos watching him like something was taken from her once again.
Bellamy ran until he physically couldn’t, and ended up deep in the winter forests north of Leandros. He would also find the amulet of the executioner seared with three marks had ended up in his pocket somehow. With adrenaline gone, he still felt he deserved to die for the things he did. Every time he attempted suicide, however, it seemed like a scene from nature would appear to distract him. These scenes he would later realize to be tied to the facets of nature Zealots of Disaster reside in. These scenes include:
- A tall and gnarly tree stood above the others and blocked sunlight from the smaller plants below but flourished as a home for many squirrels. Being struck by lightning, it falls to the ground and allows the light and rain to reach the smaller plants below. Some squirrels are crushed.
- 2 birds were chased by a hawk. One bird was able to escape but the other was taken. He later sees the hawk feeding the bird’s remains to its babies and the bird that survived teaching its children how to escape predators.
- He finds two mother bears fighting each other, both with cubs behind them. One succeeded in killing the other and the cubs of the fallen mother fled. Not even minutes later, vultures and insects appear to consume or make use of the creature’s death.
- An injured deer barely moves across the area. A wolf suddenly lunges from the bushes and kills it. As the wolf consumes, the deer oddly looks more comfortable as it embraces death.
Nearing the end of the forest into Odera. He finds a fiend running rampant. Killing wildlife for no reason, knocking trees down, simply ruining for nothing. Suddenly, the hawk, bear, and wolf appear and attack the creature with a strength they didn’t have before. Despite doing a number on it in tandem, the hawk and bear was slain along with the wolf left badly injured. Growing to love the Forest despite the horrific tragedies it’s inhabitants caused, Bellamy was only now upset by the violence and wasn’t sure why. He then realized that this fiend was committing the same kind of cruelty that doomed him to his fate and the same cruelty he committed that he deserved to die for. What he saw before was natural suffering; and what he witnessed now was unnatural cruelty. In this moment Bellamy felt he saw why he survived that day, he considered that a god may have intervened but didn’t believe it until now. He then believed he was spared to be a tool for something above humanity, to be a weapon of disaster to strike the unnatural evils he grew so familiar with. Giving his life to Teivora, lightning struck and rendered the fiend to ashes as the amulet he then adorned glowed with her symbol of storms. He then went to the injured wolf, thanked it with a pet, painlessly took its life, and consumed all three creatures in thanks.
For the next 5 years to the present day Bellamy has traveled the seas, growing stronger as a Zealot of Disaster and searching for the vile that shouldn't stain his diety's waters.
Failures & Embarrassments
Bellamy’s greatest failure was letting his genuine need for survival, justified hatred of others, and the suppression of his emotions to handle both corrupt him into a sociopath. Letting his human nature warp him into a monster of unnatural cruelty mentally and socially scarred him forever. He will never have a day when he doesn’t look back at that moment or Delaney’s face with fear that he could devolve again.
Mental Trauma
When Bellamy was thrusted into the streets as a child, the first thing he could manage to think of was to beg to the more fortunate. This went very poorly for him as he was either ignored or brutally beaten for it. After multiple attempts at this, it was burned into his mind that someone like him would only get hurt by trying to interact with others. He felt he could only survive through force and never with words, a belief that still lingers in his subconscious. This would snowball along with the many moments he’d be forced to take a life to make him suppress his emotions until he became a sociopath.
Even with his emotions and empathy now restored, his social skills have decayed to the point where he has incredible trouble interacting with others without appearing either incredibly intimidating or incredibly awkward to the few that interact with him. He has not forgiven himself for the pointless pain he has caused, and still sees himself as a monster that does not deserve peace or a good life.
Morality & Philosophy
In his eyes, the truly right thing will often hurt someone no matter what you do, and to not do the right thing to avoid someone's pain is an act of shallow morality that depends on the validation of others or even yourself. Any morally gray decisions he makes is with the belief that it will lead to a greater good for everything else.
Bellamy’s idea of good is not intrinsically tied to being nice. Good things can come from things that often cause tragedy and do not need to make people feel good to be good. Suffering is a part of natural life and at its most natural it is the catalyst that causes people, environments, and ideals to either grow stronger or have them pass onto their due afterlife to allow something new to grow in its stead; maintaining a balance within the world that makes the suffering worth enduring. Even now, Bellamy does not feel wrong for taking lives in his past when it was for his survival. Anything that is evil in Bellamy’s eyes is anything that is unnaturally cruel, which is to say that it causes suffering for suffering’s sake, it does not serve the natural balance, or it is without valid purpose or meaning. Bellamy has been victim to and even become unnatural cruelty at its most potent, so he understands this concept of evil more deeply than goodness for sure.
Living things die, Forests burn down, and nations crumble. Despite the suffering caused by it, Everything will eventually be destroyed so new life can thrive, greater forests can grow, and more honorable nations can take place. And through that natural suffering, the world will have the strength to fight against unnatural cruelty that seeks to obliterate us completely.
There are fates worse than death, and the fates that are truly the worst are all found in life. Bellamy thinks that it would have been better if he died as a child to avoid the life he led as a monster. He’d also find it better for someone to die than to live an existence of misery/delusion with no silver lining. Though he would not be the one to make that decision for someone else, he knows as a mortal he has no place making that kind of decision. It could be different if someone else’s well being was at stake. Death is not an end to mortal experience but merely an end to mortal conflict.
Taboos
To directly tamper with the soul can rob any living creature of the one thing they all deserve, peace after death and an assured afterlife. Those who would do so are either unnaturally cruel or unbelievably foolish.
It is natural to take a life for one’s survival or to protect something. Those who take a life solely for some mortal condition such as hatred, greed, or bloodlust are unnaturally cruel. “You shouldn’t die because I hate you… I hate you because you should die.”
Unnatural cruelty or Evil should never be ignored. To do so is either cowardice, selfishness, or complacency.
Never suppress your emotions. This was what led himself to become a sociopath and an unnaturally cruel monster in the first place. Though your emotions can also lead you down unnatural cruelty, it’s easier to change the direction of that driving force than it is to bring it back from nonexistence.
Bellamy finds those who believe they became great only from themselves or only their own judgment to either be lying or narcissistic. Bellamy truly knows what it’s like to trust their judgment alone with no friends, family, or even gods to influence him; and he became a monster from it. No one of significance became that way through themselves alone, but either through the aid of others or even just the use of them.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Bellamy’s life is dedicated to destroying any form of established unnatural evil he comes across. Whether it be temples of evil gods, vile pirates, Monsters destroying the environment, or even whole kingdoms; He desires that through his life sentence of conflict and violence that he would become a beacon of terror to all the unnatural cruelty in the world, giving Teivora fearful praise from the wicked and a space from Bellamy’s wake of destruction to grow something beautiful from the rubble.
He desires a way to do good despite seeing himself as a monster, so he seeks the destruction of evil as a means to make up for his perceived nature.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Bellamy’s greatest skill is his insight. Through a lifetime of mistrust of others, his ability to read the world became an essential ability to determine whether to rob someone, avoid something, or successfully take advantage of a situation. He never takes people at their word so there is never a time when he is not reading an individual’s intent or disposition. This is also why he is very perceptive of his surroundings as he doesn’t trust his environment either. Seeking out effective routes of escape and spotting those who might be out to get him. His secondary skill is his dexterity, as it was his assertive tool in his younger life to get what he needed with his sleight of hand, the ability to get out of trouble with stealth, and the finesse to shank an assaulter in one move. Through simple conditioning in a harsh snowy city slums and winter wildlands; Bellamy has the toughness to take beatings and still keep the concentration to focus like a professional war-caster.
Due to his past, Bellamy has horrific charismatic ability. Because of this he either appears super intimidating or awkward.
Likes & Dislikes
- Likes: Storms, animals, reading (Romance), soups, forrests, ruins
- Dislikes: cold weather, modern city architecture, mortal authority, cowards in seats of power
- Favorite band would be: Mastodon
Virtues & Personality perks
- Bellamy is the type to cut through any formalities or superficial facades in interactions to talk in a place of honest intent. It can be refreshing/freeing for those who live in deceit or facades.
- When Bellamy joins a worthy cause or finds an adversary to smite; you can depend on him to see it through even if it kills him.
- He has a soft spot for children in need. Though he will avoid them for the same reason, he will make sure children caught in conflict feel safe and will do everything in his power to have them escape said-conflict.
- Bellamy’s cold assertiveness is very helpful when gentle finesse fails, and has no problem taking the plunge when others are unsure of how to approach a problem.
Vices & Personality flaws
- Bellamy has a deep hatred for humanity as a collective. He always sees the worst in people and rarely trusts anyone but himself or Teiva. (He trusts individuals, not them as a whole)
- He often avoids people he grows fond of or those he finds truly undeserving of the conflict that follows him. Though this comes from a rational mindset, this quickly becomes an irrational response when someone actually strong enough to handle this conflict sticks with him.
- He accepts natural conflict as a necessary part of life; and his response to topics like death and tragedy are often inappropriate in normal society. This is also why he is not as conflicted as he should be when his goals put people in harm's way.
Personality Quirks
- He is stern and cold in most environments, but grows excitable and laughs when conflict or violence arises.
- He always blasts the main door of an adversary’s base/etc with a thunderwave. This can be to enter or exit
- He rarely sleeps in a bed or mat, but sits in the most secure corner of the area with all his things in his arms.
Hygiene
Bellamy keeps himself and his gear fairly clean most times, but has often left blood, dirt, or remains from a recent battle stay on his person if he desires to intimidate any particular people or circumstance. When he does bathe, it is rarely in a proper bath with warm water and soaps but either through streams, waterfalls, and the like. If he is alone and isn’t “working” if it begins to storm, Bellamy would stop to bathe in the rainwater. Though by accident, he often smells of very nice incense used in prayers.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Though he doesn't know them, he has a general idea of where some famous Zealots of Disaster would be. Despite being a terrorist to the World Authority, most churches of Teiva will aid him secretly if able.
Family Ties
- Madelyn Abigail: deceased mother. Human Doctor
- Aeron Abigail: deceased father. Human physician
Religious Views
Bellamy is a strong follower of Teiva and deeply believes in her tenants as the Storm Queen. In terms of gods overall, he respects most of them as the authority of their domain excluding the blatantly evil or gods in opposition to her. He will always seek her aid in his judgment and trusts her guidance beyond his own instincts.
Despite the flaws that the gods show, Bellamy trusts them far more than humanity because even if they act in a way that may be inconsiderate or faulty; their intentions and actions will never defy the ideals and laws of the world they represent as they will always be the pinnacle of their domain. Humanity is inconsistent, full of contradictions, and simply lies to themselves as much as to others; they will spout about their ideals if they even have one but will betray them at the drop of the hat if it suits their situation, but a god will never betray their ideals even if it were to cost them dearly. To that end he could find it easier to “trust” an evil god like Malice than a neutral individual that serves themself.
Bellamy believes that those that actively hate the gods in general or attempt to rise to their level do not understand the role they play in the natural balance of everything, along with the cost of maintaining said role. To him these kinds of people are self-centered, only seeing how the gods have or have not affected their narrow bubble; or narcissistic, unable to accept the truth that there will always be a greater power above them… mortal or divine. It is fine if you do not worship them, but it is childish in his eyes to act like the gods are the main problem and not humanity.
Bellamy is not mad that the gods never changed his situation, but proves in his mind the results of what happens to mortals without the aid/intervention of gods. “Why did a god not intervene if they’re like you say?” he would ask, “Why didn’t even one mortal help in my 15 years of homelessness when there were hundreds of them physically in front of me?”
Social Aptitude
- His social skills decayed to the point where Bellamy only appears either incredibly intimidating or incredibly awkward to the few that interact with him. And it is incredibly difficult to communicate his emotions aside from anger or distain.
- He has an unyielding confidence/arrogance that is deeply rooted in how he perceives his fate. Whether he succeeds or fails to prove his confidence as a Zealot of Disaster correct; he will still die a violent death either way. So why not meet his fate by overreaching in his role instead of failing it?
Mannerisms
Bellamy often has his arms crossed when having to listen to someone else talk for any extended period of time
In moments of rage, his eyes will glow blue, static will jump around him, or the ground will shake.
Relationships
Wealth & Financial state
Though he doesn't't pursue it directly, Bellamy's piracy has made him very wealthy. This does not improve his quality of life however, as he spends everything into weapons, gear, and equipment.

"I am Teiva's messenger and the message is simple. When lightning strikes you twice, its because you deserve it."
