Fae belong to the most dreaded and admired creatures of myth. In some regions the fascination for them is only met by the fascination for dragons . As their characteristics can be entirely different from one place to another, they will be covered in seperate chapters.

It can be observed, that in written legends, their characterisation varies with the spelling. So are fairy delightful little creatures surrounded by bright light that grant wishes and lead those that capture them to hidden treasures. There is usually little danger from those creaures altough in some tellings they have sharp teeth that can cause bad healing wounds.
When writen as faerie, the talk is mostly about an entirely different sort of creatures. Faerie are dreadful and powerfull beings, mostly of man size and shape. Yet they are by far stronger and faster, their weapons sharper and deadlier than any mortal blade. They hunt and kill mortals for game and are merciless - at least they have no mercy in a human way- often leaving bloodbaths behind where they walk.
