dragons
"Whoever made up the first stories of dragons must have either been mad or a genius. Or really drunk."
- quote from a drunken librarian
Dragons are one of the most contradictive creatures of myth. In some tellings they are horrible monsters that breathe fire on anyone they can spot, in other stories they are creatures of deep wisdom that aid the hero of the story. And in other stories again they are greedy beasts that hoard gold and kill anyone that tries to steal from them.
Sometimes they speak, sometimes not. Not even in all stories they can breath fire.
But always they are beings or enormous size and strengh. They also have wings.
"Dragons must be one of the most magnificent creatures. If only they were true our world would be richer by far."
There is indeed a strange fascination all people seem to share when it comes to dragons. Whether they are monsters or not, their slaying allways causes some sorrow.
Some say that dragons represent the force of nature. By their massive strengh that makes the ground shake under their feet and their ability to breath fire that seems quite easy to believe when listening to a good story-teller.
