The Dog *WIP*
- Doesn't have a name, yet.
- He was one of seven turnspit dogs that worked at the Inn Between the Mountains and the Forest. None of them had names because the kitchen staff didn't want to get too attached to them, but they did have different colored collars to tell them apart from one another. He was not a pet, he was a cooking appliance. He lived in a den, like a cupboard, with the other turnspits. There wasn't enough room to play in there, but just enough to eat and cuddle. There was also a doggie door that lead outside for them to do their business. There was also a ramp that lead up to the turnspit wheel near the fire and when one dog got tired it would run down the ramp and another dog would take its place.
- Somethings a little door would open to a second ramp that lead to a wheel for the butter churn.
- Our dog actually loved his job. He was breed to run and even though he has short legs and is relatively compact, he could run for hours. He loved to watch the goings on of the kitchen. He'd watch all the cooks and chefs as they baked all day. He know the smells by heart and had memorized the dished by the different combos of smells that went into making them. Nothing was better after a long day of running than to be given the scraps from those fragrant meals for his own dinner. He took pride in having helped cook such tasty food. If he was lucky, one of the chefs would say the name of the dish, but often they followed the weekly routine and made the food in silence.
- Some times the chefs would read from a book when they were making new things. The book had pictures, but Dog could never make them out. Some nights he would imagine what those pictures where of, what the different combos of smells would be. He'd often fall asleep thinking about.
- He's secret wish was be able to read so he could look in one of those food books and finally know the names. He didn't tell the other dogs because they would just laugh at him. Who would teach a dog to read? It would also be pretty cool if he was the chef, but now he really was dreaming. No one in their right mind would make a dog a chef. Maybe, just maybe, if you were cute enough, and lucky enough, one of the patrons would adopted you. That miracle only happen to puppies, though.
- Dog was not cute. Definitely has same corgi in him, but hasn't inherited their feral temperment, only the stature and low carrage.
- Corgi schnauzer, corgi rottweiler, corgi chihuahua, corgi border collie,
