Thycrid
Thycrids are crustacean herd animals that somewhat resemble a mundane shrimp, standing upright with an almost centaur-like silhouette. They primarily graze on algae, grass and leaves, although they won't pass down the opportunity to scavenge off of carcasses.
Thycrids are able to sprint very fast, similar to the gallop of a horse, and are often domesticated and employed in a similar fashion to how horses would have been used before the Cosmic Sundering, as hardy mounts for carrying gear and getting around quickly. While horses are still used for this purpose in urban settlements, more as statements of wealth and luxury, thycrids are the preferred method of transport for traders and explorers, due to their hardiness and un-picky diet.
The name 'Thycrid' is the Urkali name for the creatures, adopted by many as the standard term, however, they are sometimes, rather confusingly, called 'Shrimp'.
