Timlau Islands (ˈtim.laʊ ˈaɪ.ləndz)
"With this new connection to the Empire, we will have trade opportunities sufficient to break our ties with the hysterical Karajans of Bulau and Semvhu."
The Timlau Islands are a collection of sixty-five islands along the northern edge of the Kanluranan island group. These islands are quite small compared to most of Kanluranan, with the largest being Tanah at just over five hundred square miles. There are several Karajans in the Timlau Islands, but the largest by far is Karajan Suracandra, which controls two thirds of the archipelago's landmass. The islands are heavily cultivated, and are focused on the production of valuable spices that they trade internationally. While they do not produce as many spices as the Mangimoi Archipelago, they are generally considered to be of higher quality.
The Timlau Islands are not mountainous, and have no communities of Utkrośa. While the Karajans of the archipelago support the Persatuan Phaṇin's war against the Utkrośa and Rangdayan in principle, they think the tales of the godess and her monsters are exaggerated by the Karajans of the large islands. Ever since the Persatuan Phaṇin voted to become a protectorate of the Tagápulo Empire, Karajan Suracandra has been investigating breaking with the Persatuan Phaṇin altogether and forming an independent relationship with the Empire. The Karajans of the Timlau Islands had joined the Persatuan Phaṇin in part to receive a favorable trade position with their neighbors, and Sri Jayamandala of Karajan Suracandra has suggested that with the current situation, withdrawing from the Persatuan Phaṇin might be more profitable than remaining.
Points of Interest
Most of the islands are covered in plantations, but there are a few points the international traveler might care to visit. One of these is Nandagara Lighthouse on the island of Tanah. It marks the entrance to the harbor at Pinaling, and the god of the lighthouse is known as Tandalu, the golden oracle. Tandalu's prophecies are all centered arounding guiding the petitioner towards wealth and prosperity, and is one of the patron gods of merchants and commerce.
Another point of interest is often sought, but rarely found. This is the vanishing temple of Timlau, dedicated to the god of the fields and its laborers. It is said to appear only to those in need of help, especially those who have been cheated or are in ruinous debt. It avoids the cities and towns, and manifests within the spice fields for short periods to gather in those who require it.
Geography
The Timlau islands form an arc marking the northeastern border of Kanluranan. The region has many coral reefs and tiny islets, and the exact number of islands changes with the tides. Low hills cover the largest islands, with terraced plantations that grow cloves, nutmeg, and pepper. There are also substantial coconut, banana, and breadfruit plantations.

The Vanishing Temple sounds cool. I see how more lighthouses tie in.
Yeah, I have a lot of fun building out the different lighthouses and their take on the overall themes of the Ring of Light.
