Vokaan

A place of burning sands that move like waves, and scorched blasted lands that are inhospitable to any outsiders that find themselves unlucky enough to end up there. This unwelcoming world harbours an ancient and mysterious race of creatures that act as guardians and custodians of this Vokaan, protecting what little they have from any and all outside influence.

Geography

Climate

The landscape of Vokaan is extemely perilous and inhospitable, covering the harshest terrain on the planet. The kingdom is predominantly sandy desert, blending into the arid steppes to the north that eventually become Eskarr. Central Vokaan is more of an arid savanna with gradually more plant-life that is resilient to the difficult climate, moving more to the east. Desert surrounds most of this sub-tropical grassland.   Sitting on the edge of a tectonic plate, most of the western coast acts as a barrier of mountains and volcanoes. Wind blows in off the ocean and the moisture gets caught on the mountain range, allowing the hot air to turn the rest of the land into a desert. Because of this, much of the south-west border is a barren, volcanic badlands. This region is plagued by the occasional eruption or ash storm and allows for no plant life to flourish. However, even here there are thought to be places where the tenacious Kaaneshi have declared their dominion and dug out homes for themselves.
