Sorrow Wraiths

Haunting the darkest places in the silent kingdom of Nel'Akhiron are the Echoes, fragments of memory or emotion that imprison the undying husks of those that once lived there. Usually docile unless disturbed, the most prevelant of these are the Sorrow Wraiths.   The Sorrow-Wraiths are not corporeal creatures, but beings made of condensed grief and magical residue. They take on the form of a person's most beloved or most sorrowful memory, a fleeting, ghost-like figure of a lost family member or a fallen comrade. They are not aggressive unless you show fear or attempt to touch them, at which point they will unleash a maddening wail that drains the very life from you.   Wraiths like these are often found near the Weeping Scrolls and other places of great tragedy, feeding on the pain of the lost. They are a physical representation of the melancholic rot that has consumed Nel'Akhiron.
