Leslie

After the initial “Apocalypse” as the humans called it, (her family just called it the Time of Feasts) Leslie befriended a Living Girl that began staying near her nest.

The Living Girl would sit out and watch her some days as they both respectively sun bathed after a long day of work.

The Living girl would set out many pools of water around her plant nest that Leslie was welcomed to bathe in. Leslie always wondered whether the paper she held told her the secrets to a good bath.

The Living Girl had began talking with her Kettle a few months into The Year of Great Feasts. The Living Girl had no Kettle anymore, so Leslie was alright to share her own. She was glad when the girl dawned her very own colorful beak, since it made easier to spot her, and made her feel like one of the kettle compared to those ground snatchers.

The Living Girl would go into those houses and Leslie would fallow, of pure curiosity of course, and when the Living Girl opened the window and called to her, she knew that the Living Girl had found some food that she deemed to much for herself. Or whatever she did with her carcasses. It wasn’t Leslie’s place to judge, it was more food for her Kettle.

Personality Characteristics

Hygiene

She is extremely clean, loves baths and cooking in the sun

Social

Reign

Leslie and her Kettle were partially responsible for the success of New Brook. She and her kettle were able to digest the dead bodies of the Initial Dead, before the zombified became so desperate to eat the long dead. This ended up taking down the population of zombies as they had little food or blood and ended up eating one another, dropping dead, or surviving off of the few animals that were there. After the afflicted died the Vultures could even eat the dead bodies! Thanks to Leslie and her fellow vultures the sickness was kept at bay!

Contacts & Relations

Before the fall not many people of the town liked her kettle. People believe that vultures take and kill livestock even though that is a very rare occurrence, and due to it being a rural town it was a much more shared idea.

Family Ties

Leslie meets her match the year of the apocalypse, and has three chicks. She continues to have chicks throughout the seasons.

Religious Views

She believes that once things die that they are stuck in their bodies until they are devoured or taken back to the earth. If animals are slow to decay it means that their soul is churning and getting revenge from the land. Particularly by poisoning the water. And in order to give their soul peace they must be devoured in a timely manner, and their soul moves on once they have completed the cycle and provided for others.
