Appearance

Quil's appearance is fluid, appearing anywhere between human and raptor depending on their mood at the time.

Human

As a full human, Quil is androgynous with tanned skin. They have purple-yellow eyes like a bird's and a 3-claw scar running from their left cheek to their neck.  

Raptor

As a full raptor, Quil is a mid-sized Utahraptor. They have dark grey skin and a purple plumage with yellow and white patterns and accents. The same scar runs on the side of their face.  

Drip and Accessories

Quil wears clothing suited for their desert home: a thin military-esque jumpsuit outfitted with long metal-heeled boots. Over this, they wear a large off-white cloak and a loose scarf that they often use to cover their nose and mouth from sandstorms. They're also rarely seen without a memento from their father: a tall peaked hat with a neck cover, emblemed with the hunters guild's logo.

Abilities, Weapons, and Curses

Neither Human nor Raptor

Born as something between both worlds, Quil has the ability to fluidly shift between human, raptor, and everything and anything in between.  

Jezail

Quil uses a specialised collapsible jezail rifle designed to hunt dinosaurs. They are very proficient with the weapon, being taught how to use it from a young age.

Personality

Serving in the DPD, Quil is quiet and doesn't say more than they need to. They're a survivor: cunning and resourceful. If Quil isn't close with someone, they use codenames or descriptors to refer to people instead of their actual names.  

History

Quil began life as a raptor, born with a strange 3-claw scar on their face. Their mother protected them ferociously, defending them from human hunters. However, when Quil was only 1, their entire pack was slaughtered by a sizable hunting party looking to clear the area of predators. Quil was the only survivor, hiding in a small cave.   Days later, another hunter ventured into the cave and found Quil, now transformed into a human and on the brink of death. The hunter saw the scar on their face and assumed they got it from the raptors. He took Quil in and raised them and loved them like his own child. Quil learned how to use a rifle and how to ride dinosaurs like Gallimimus. One day while Quil's dad was out on a hunting expedition, a man from the hunters' guild came to their door. He told Quil that their dad had been killed on his expedition, and all they could recover was his hat. ( insert pulp fiction gold watch rip off scene )   Quil would set out to join the hunters' guild, but soon after joining, their mysterious nature came to light, revealing their raptor form to everyone. They were treated like a monster and isolated from society, hunted like the dinosaur everyone thought they were. For the next year, Quil went on a journey to discover who they were and the origin of the 3-claw scar they were born with. They would come to learn everything about themself through trials and tribulations, facing threats from both the human and dinosaur worlds. Once everything was over, people would come to see them not as a monster, but as just another   But this new life was soon ripped from them. While exploring ancient ruins with their friends, Quil touched an ancient artifact and found themself immediately transported into another dimension. The reality quickly set in. Quil was alone, their friends were gone. They screamed and shouted until they were coughing blood. But the only people who heard their screams were the DPD officers who stood behind them. Quil resisted their arrest until they offered a deal to bring them back home if they worked for the DPD for a while. They would accept this, spending years as a specialist, fighting and assassinating anyone whom the DPD needed rid of, including Sand and Astrit.   At one point, Quil tried to escape the DPD by stealing a warp device from an agent and returning to their home dimension. The DPD rebutted this by showing Quil footage of their agents hiding out in their home dimension, keeping tabs and their guns on Quil's friend. If they wanted to run off back home, everyone they cared about would die.
