KKalos, the Mighty Fire Dragon is thought by most to be the very first thinking and speaking creature the
The Mothers and the Fathers placed on
Mernac. Most learned scholars feel that Kalos specifically, and
Dragons more generally, are known to be born without a Soul. However,
The One and
The Other have given him to earn one for himself and all Dragons. To accomplish this, the Fire Dragon has undergone
The Eternal Quest to find his Soul.

To create Man each of the
Gods sacrificed a part of themselves to create the race: For
Kanola it was her ears, and you know how much she loves music. For
Traejen? his Face and skin - his vanity be damned, from
Kala, her heart and you know her passion for love, and so on through all the gods. But it was not enough. For man to live, breathe, speak, and contemplate his existence...
Barak had to sacrifice his very own soul.
This Kalos, is what completed Man.

Kalos and his twin sister
Kellium were the first
Dragons Created on
Mernac and done through the combined Magic of
Siberlee,
Sola, and
The One. By the
Scribes and
Sages who know of such things he is also considered the most educated and learned being on
Mernac. This is, in part, because when he was created he was made without a soul.
The One has promised Kalos that he, and the entire Race of
Dragons may, in fact, earn their souls if Kalos can learn the answers to some very specific questions. She granted him immortality as it was thought finding the answers these questions would be a very long time coming.
These questions, are not unknown to most, have been phrased many different ways over the Seasons. They are, in fact, the very questions which any thinking creature tries to find the answers to when they are alone on sleepless nights.
