Aelnor Rylin

Early Life

Aelnor was born to Artair Rylin in the 10,135th year of the Age of Restoration. Unlike his brasher father, Aelnor was not born with exceptional physical stature but was viewed as frail due to a chronic weakness he was born with. As a result, he spent much of his early life studying the libraries of Kaer Dour, Mauribon, and the Reflecting Pools, soaking up knowledge.

Studies at the Citadel

Due to his bookish nature, his father arranged for him to study at the Citadel once he reached 30 years of age, but he still did not show the martial prowess his father desired. His time at the citadel demonstrated how his sharp mind compensated for his shorter stature, enabling him to achieve Mastery in Governance after 20 years of study.

Return to Mauribon

Upon completing his first mastery, he was urged to return home by Lord Sneha due to his father's proclivities, which had led to mismanagement of the Lin Providence over the past few years. Over the next few years, Aelnor began to serve as the De Facto Winter Warden while his father decided to go on several adventures. This also led to his grandfather, the Steward of the Seasons, Amis Rylin, taking over several of the Winter Warden's responsibilities to allow his heir to gain more experience.

Winter Warden

Upon the death of Amis Rylin and the ascension of his father to the Stewardship, Aelnor rose to become the Winter Warden in 10,295. Regularly attending the Council of Mauribon during his tenure, Aelnor took responsibility for much of the governance of House Rylin at the time and for increasing the government of the Enclaves.

When his father began to consider an invasion of the Duchy of Malainn from their southern borders, Aelnor strongly cautioned against it, but ultimately proved unsuccessful in stopping the conflict and was left in Mauribon as his father marched south.

Service as the Steward of the Seasons

Artair Rylin fell in one of the opening battles of the conflict, leading to Aelnor ascending to the Stewardship at the age of 170. The first few years of his reign were spent ending the conflict with Malainn and ensuring that they no longer trespassed on the borders of the Fen Providence to the South.

He gave birth to his only son, Aurelilan, at the age of 230. He served faithfully as the Steward and presided over a renewed period of peace until his untimely death due to illness at the age of 297, having served as Steward for 127 years.

Aelnor recieved an education typical of House Rylin in his youth, and proved to be a studious student.

At the age of 50, he achieved Mastery in Governance from the Citadel

As Steward:

Achieved peace with the Duchy of Malian after a 7-year conflict.

His father Artair prioritized martial prowess more than many Elves, which brought up Aelnor's illness and frailty constantly, and made it a mark of shame for the Elf.
