Demographics
Due to Elinstor's isolationist nature, the city remains largely Elven, with only a smattering of humans in the harbor districts.
Government
As the seat of the Storm Guardian and the capital of the Elinstor, the city is directly run by the reigning sovereign.
Defences
The defenses of the settlement reflect its history: first as a war camp, then as a settlement by necessity, and finally as a capital city. The city features several layers of complex stone fortifications, featuring moats, towers, and gatehouses.
Layer 1: The Core
The center of the city, where the original camp's leadership met, initially featured a wooden fortification, but it was rebuilt in stone after the settlement was established. The modern version features a moat along its base and several towers near important buildings inside, such as the Storm Guardians' bastion.
Layer 2: The Original Camp
The second wall of the city began as a simple wooden fence with stakes pointing outward and slowly became more fortified as the military campaign continued. During the first century of the Age of Restoration, it was made into a formal stone wall to protect the original boundaries of the settlement. This includes a sizable artificial river that began as a moat at its base.
Layer 3: The Expanded City
The third wall of the city marks the point where the town had expanded before the first invasion by the Tatshian Empire. It is heavily fortified and forms a defensive line around the city.
Layer 4: The Farmlands
A wooden barricade surrounds the farmlands around the city to provide protection and a chance to flee into the city as needed.
