Ketra has always been supremely gifted with intelligence. Her thirst for knowledge is her greatest asset and one of the main reasons she earned the title Keeper of Knowledge from the council of wizards shortly after graduating from her apprentiship when she was a teenager. As a Keeper of Knowledge, one of her primary functions has been to locate knowledge either new or lost, and record that knowledge in a special book using the language of wizards, Siltari. For Ketra, the fastest way to discover new knowledge is on the frontier. The places where people need to innovate in order to survive. This is how Ketra found herself living in Spiritvale, a settlement located deep in the The Western Kip and far from the major cities.
Just as she was about to set out on this new and exciting venture, the council had another gift for Ketra. An apprentise. The girl they requested she take with her was the brightest of her generation, armed with a quick mind and great intelligence. Her name, Tia Quill.
