Phecda

Phecda is the home of the Arborans. Discovered by Carolians about 150 years ago.   Phecda is a bright white class A star, surrounded by a large gas disk. The star also has a very fast rotation, making it bulge slightly in the middle.   When the Carolians arrived in the system, they discovered 3 planets within the gas cloud. The outermost planet, where the gas cloud begins to thin is a large habitable planet. Officially the planets name is Phecda d, though it's usually called Arboran. The gas cloud also contained two smaller asteroid fields between the first two planets. These fields are not rings around the star, but large scatterings of debris from failed planets. The very edges of the gas cloud also has large numbers of asteroids.   Besides Arboran, the only settlement is a space station that is at the inner edge of the asteroid belt. The station is Carolian, and they built it with permission of the Arborians. The Carolians use built the station with multiple purposes in mind. It is a fueling station, capable of minor to moderate ship repairs. There are some miners that live on it the mine the field. Though this is not a profitable field to invest much in, it does have fair amounts of aluminum, gold, and iron. The last purpose of the station is actually the primary one. It was designed as a research post to study Phecda, and the cloud of gasses around it. Due to this, it has a vast array of sensors, and docs for science vessels.
