Historia-Psygonautica

Similar to how the Greeks valued Homer's Iliad, the Historia-Psygonautica is a codex of all the catalogued voyages of The Psygorellius and its various Commander-Ultimoi.

Stored inside the ship's command deck, the Psygonautica is the oldest record of the Hellecian people. Over the centuries, many of its crew members went on to found settlements that became major centers of power in the sector.

It became so valuable the catalog was used during legal disputes over property ownership, primogeniture, even criminal law before the advent of the DTOS.

If the Delot's source code couldn't compute a suitable settlement, the court would refer the Psygonautica and rule in favor of the precedence set by a Commander-Ultimos or their Psygonauts.

This is one of the reasons why the Psygorellius is so important to the Hellecian people.

If a conniving tyrant with enough technical savvy wanted to gift himself anything their heart desired, all they'd have to do is alter the original file in the Psygonautica. Make a distant relative the true heir to a settlement or a plot of valuable land, absolved of a crime or act of cowardice/dishonor they committed in the catalog.

A virtual backdoor into the legal framework of the sector.

Goram the Persuader tried to absolve his dishonor this way, after he got AJM-001 to open the command deck and activate the ship's databanks.

Thankfully, this didn't happen. Which is why the primary role of the crew's Chief Chronicler is cataloguing the adventures of the Psygonauts, send current reports to the Council/Universe Historical Parish, and protect the integrity of the Historia-Psygonautica.
