Dopheans
While most species in the sector are typically residents of Karoj-Menos, the Dopheans have the most peculiar origin. Reason being that no one, not even the Pantheon, remembers where they came from or who made them.
Regardless, they're a race of trans-dimensional dolphins created by Apollo to travel through a rip in space-time at Delphi to bring him prophecies from various timelines, alternate realities, and anywhere else they appeared.
Similar to their rivals: the Phylisties, Dopheans can travel between dimensions. However, their way differs in their ability to swap out extra-dimensional of themselves into whatever form they choose.
Many choose to take the form of humanoid Dolphins. Most use their power to blend into the local populous.
Either way, Dopheans are driven by the will of the Cosmic Aurora. Giving off an air of dizziness or forgetfulness because they're attempting to filter out what elements of their world exists in this reality or another.
Origins:
In this telling (which is the best tagline for most of the information regarding Dopheans), Apollo and Artemis tracked down the massive serpents Python and Delphyne sent by Hera to torment their mother Leto while giving birth to them. Apollo killed Python while Artemis killed Delphyne.
Both their Ichor tainted by Dyasma or ritualistic uncleanliness, Apollo and Artemis served Hera, releasing them after performing demeaning work to their half-mother's delight.
Returned to their duties once again, Apollo traveled over the area on Karoj-Menos where the twin serpents fell, he received visions and strange lapses in space-time.
Every time he passed over the fixed point on the planet, the sun god would experience flashes of the past, present, future, differing realities and timelines all happening at the same time.
Confiding in his sister (who didn't see the visions he saw), Apollo asked her to watch over him from his Hamariot while he investigated the spot (explaining the day & night cycle - Artemis being associated with the moon).
Once there, Apollo found a geyser blowing greenish-blue steam from the planet's core. In an instant of breathing the noxious fumes, the god fell into a trance.
Concerned, Artemis sent all manner of creature to wake her brother from his slumber. Calling her uncle Poseidon, he sent the tide to lap against Apollo's body (explaining how the Moon controls the tides) followed by a massive earthquake.
However, the tide and the earthquake accidentally swept Apollo out to sea.
Fearing the worst, Artemis scoured the god planet looking for her brother (explaining a lunar eclipse).
Weeks later, she found her brother half mad, calling himself Dopheus: Lord of the Dolphins, and building a temple where his subjects carried him to build a nexus that will save their home from the coming doom.
Once he finished building his temple, he asked Artemis to cover for him again. Unwillingly, she drives the Hamariot as her brother disappears.
Several days later, Apollo reappears into existence standing among slain and fleeing Phylisties among his army of his loyal Dopheans (now taking the appearance of humans).
Prophetic Messengers:
Until the Invasion of the Progenitors and the Helio-Apollan Binary Supernovae, the Dopheans would be prophets/priests/seers/defenders of Delphi.
Traveling through the crack in reality to give vague prophecies to pay for the upkeep and defense of the temple from the dispelled Phylisties and other forces.
The meanings of these prophecies were so vague because the Dopthia (or Grand Seer) would travel through every conceivable reality at any given point and relay what she saw.
Following the supernovae, Dephi did survive relatively intact. However, the Patrokonic Fleet pulverized the temple into dust to keep the Phylisties from having it.
The Dopheans managed to escape and disperse across the sector.
Several making to the other side of the Taygestronese and demanding sanctuary with the Ionite Flotilla of Space-Faring Colonists.
The rest hid within the Dodonan Roots or the Karnian Bog, either giving up to wallow in their defeat or plotting the retaking of their home from the Hellecian protectorate governed by the Thermetolians.
