Plague / Epidemic
Verdant overgrowth spreads unchecked through the Tietê and Pinheiros river basins of São Paulo, Brazil. Dense favelas along the waterways were the first to be hit. Infections exploded with mass cases of Green Lung reported as spores filled the subway systems. Authorities tried to quaratine neighbourhoods, but the Verdancy breached firebreaks and overtook central districts within days. Approximately 3.8 million were dad or Hollowed, with tens of thousands fleeing south to Paraná. This was the first reported large-scale human infection crisis. São Paulo became the first city where Hollowed swarms were reported at scale, haunting survivor's testimonies.
