Eidelheim's logbook
The following logbook is from captain Eidelheim. It is meant to help understand the current situation of the raid of Zala. Note that while feeling can be interpreted from the logbook, it is not necessarily his feelings but the general vibes across the ships and it is meant to show where he lies.

24th Sul
The members of the raid are gathered in the town and all things considered, this should not be to hard. They all look capable and even though I have some apprehension regarding the group called Shade, the people above me assure me that it will be fine. I have been told that the Tradfell groups are all on standby and they have even been given a small contingent of wizards from House Grayfeather. Once we get to the island it will be a simple matter of guarding the ships.
This is the time when Eidelheim was only responsible for ship protection while the mercenary army wass suppose to deal with the entire raid.

Things are looking good, we have met the other ships and looking at the situation I feel confident we will be done and home within the month. The general from Tradfell is clearly prepared and is able to speak with the elves from the Thelvaran Dynasty. Good thing that he is her because I was not even allowed to step onto their ship.
Shade are clearly trying to show that they are here to help and I can't help but trust them. Regardless, their contribution is only a small part so as long as they do not cause trouble everything will be fine.
During the journey to the Islands, nothing had gone wrong and all cruicial contact networks remained. The pride filled Seabound Sentinel was amicable towards the Tradfell general so cooperation with the elves was easy.

This is a disaster, I am suddenly the one in charge alongside captain Gonzalo. How did the ship of Tradfell get destroyed but we made it out. I heard that Shade drove away the dragon armies captain so the lower deck was not destroyed but things are so bad that all of their egos are clashing. One of them even hit Kavir, I though she would kill or throw the orc overboard but she seems to be aware enough of the problems we are in.
The plans of an easy attack seems to be long gone and now we need to consider how four mercenary groups are going to deal with an army. We need any aid we can get but the elves are not very receptive to me, maybe we could find a way to get the criminals onto our side.
There is no clear plan or authority that remains over the mercenary groups, only the movement of the ship remains within the control of Gonzalo and Eidelheim. The mercenaries are free to find whatever solution they want to deal with this massive problem as any of the pre-prepared or normal plans is bound to fail.
What Eidelheim hopes for is the destruction of as many of the kobolds as possible, preventing them from developing further. In addition the raid party needs allies and any criminal who is willing to help will have their crimes removed to the extent Eidelheim can manage it.
9th Vard
We are hidden on the Island and now we just need to wait and hope the mercenaries find something to act upon. There was a clear will of the Oathbound to charge into the village but that is unlikely to ever work. Hopefully the scouting efforts of the Green Rangers will reveal everything that is hidden on this Island. Shade have seemingly been running protection ensuring that our outer perimiter is safe until the scouting report returns. And as for the fortunate fighters, they somehow still seem to see this as some fun adventure. I hope something good will come soon.
During the first two days the party has been able to make some considerations in the close vicinity and make plans for how to deal with the army. Although there is a will to charge the lair immediately, depending on exactly where it is and how fortified it is Eidelheim wants more concrete knowledge that the raid group won't run into their death.
There are multiple things to investigate such as the water elementals, what kinds of ships the dragon army has and if there are any other means of transportation. Pressuring information out of their troops might also reveal where their bases are, how many and how strong the army is.
