Christian Kracht - TSWK
The archaeologist
Before his descent into darkness, Christian Kracht was the epitome of a Nicandrian scholar—brilliant, disciplined, and insatiably curious. Born into a family that valued achievement above all else, he excelled from a young age and was sent to the Arcane Collective, where his fascination with history and magic flourished. There, he immersed himself in the study of lost civilizations, unearthing the forgotten truths of Midranor’s past with unwavering determination.
Upon returning to his hometown, Christian secured a position with The Ebony Archivists, a closed of group dedicated to preserving knowledge. He became known not only for his archaeological expertise but also for his relentless pursuit of understanding The Weave itself. Over twelve years, he uncovered artifacts, deciphered ancient texts, and expanded the archives with discoveries that might have been lost to time. His work was his purpose, and for a long while, it was enough.
The necromancer
Christian Kracht’s path is assumed to have shifted when he was sent to Botrusberg, a sprawling mountain chain once dotted with fortresses and mining operations, now abandoned and left to the slow decay of time. The Ebony Archivists tasked him with investigating the remnants of these forgotten sites, including mines, fortresses and holy sites. What he found, what revelation turned him away from his former life, remains a mystery. Perhaps it was something deep within the ruins—an artifact, a presence, a truth so profound it shattered his understanding of the world.
He first turned to the dead. The graves in the nearby village, old and fresh alike, became his material. At first, no one noticed, but when graves were no longer enough, he turned to the living. People began disappearing—hunters, travelers, even villagers who strayed too far into the night. Whispers spread of a darkness in the mountains, of something unnatural lurking in the mines they still worked in. As the disappearances mounted, so did suspicion.
Now exposed but not defeated, Christian seemingly hides into the heart of Botrusberg, taking his growing army of the dead with him. What was once an abandoned ruins now serves his stronghold. From the shadows of the mountains, he watches, waiting, preparing. The countdown has started, but he has been preparing for this.
The Giant tomb raid
Giants in Botrusberg has taken over an old dwarven stronghold, rebuilding the castle to fit them. Their ancestors were buried in a tomb not far from the castle but with limited guards. One night the guards were attacked without getting a proper alarm out and when the change of guard came in the morning they saw the tomb opened and the blood splatter the entrance. Only one of the two guards bodies remained outside the tomb and within, several skeletons had been taken away.
The Deva Azreal
His actions have not only attracted the ire of Giants and Nicandria but also of a celestial. Azreal has been hunting him, attempting to find wherever he hides so she can complete her divine mission.
Strengths
- Minimum 4th tier of magic at full capabilities.
- Capabilities to summon up to 3 wraith commanders (did not possess the full power of a wraith).
- Unidentified uncertain darkness associated with the wraith magical items.
- Possesses the bodies of several giants
Weaknesses
- Any spell caster wielding a Necronomicon would require a continuous usage of their spell potential to maintain their undead hordes. The greater his army the weaker his own spell casting, although it can be recovered later if the army dies.
